what i notice is that the Google data centre that serves me in the UK by typing in Google.co.uk is 66.102.9.104 and i see various serps results

Yet, if i type into the browser 66.102.9.104 i get different results why is this?

I see Matt has just posted on his blog [mattcutts.com] a comment. Something about the present Data Refresh:

"... this is the same data refresh from June 27th and July 27th, just being refreshed again. We&#8217;ve been doing it for ~1.5 years at this point, and I&#8217;d continue to expect that we&#8217;ll just keep refreshing the data to that algorithm every several weeks or so."
