@dumpedbyg
<<Why not?

i checked this IP and still see canonical problems, so i concluded the domain mentioned is not involved in that issue.

Good Morning for all! (here in spain :P)
Today I received a newsletter with the title: Are reciprocal links dead?
They explain that this as method of building rank and link popularity ends with jagger and it is the possible reason because a lot of sites surffering loss of position..
Somebody think that?

<Great, i lost 40% traffic from google. No more interest in updating the site. I'll give it one more week, and if this continues, i might think of buying traffic. Afterall, maybe thats what google wants us all to do. Adwords.>

Exactly. Our site sells niche widgets (hate that term). There are at least thirty sites which sell exclusively those niche widgets. None of them (including us) appear in the first three pages on G.(as of this morning) Result - spend more on adwords. Simple really

To me the update looks finished and Google has added the extra links to the bottom of the authority sites listings at number one.

If you swap links with quality sites as well as add other quality sites to your links page then there is no problem…. Unless you have a massive links farm then I suppose only a percentage of those links are counted… but the site has got to be made up of mostly external links.

Good morning.
I am in Spain too right now, and got a similar email.
There has been a lot of interrogation re reciprocal links, on this forum, and many believe that if sites with them are being hit badly. I believe, however, that if the reciprocals are valid [related to your theme] then they are not affecting ratings whatsoever.
I know sites that have many reciprocals, and are still in the top 3 of the SERP's. Perhaps going overboard on them i.e. thousands may affect positioning, but a suggested maximum of 100 links [total links, not just recips] on any given page is the way to go!

Today Matt Cutts says in his blog:

P.S. I’m off to bed, but Jagger3 is coming along. I don’t know if it will be visible later today or not, but I’ll keep you posted when I know more.

Strikes me that these algo tweaks are nonsense - filtering bad links, weighting good links, etc - Google should just monitor their users behaviour and let them decide whats relevant - people power!
