Do you mean "UnGoogleable"?

This is outrageous.
How can google be so unfair?

I play by the rules, I havn't optimised my name at all.

All I see in the first 100 pages of results for 'paul' is spam sites - paul in the title, paul in the domain name, they even put 'paul' in the content!

Should I fill out a spam report?

Or perhaps I should change my name by deed poll to
Paul
. Do you think that would help?

erm, not trying to offend anyone here, just a bit of fun...

Always those newbie questions... ppg, tell all your friends who have websites to link to you. And make sure that the link text includes 'paul'. :)

>> Now what do you mean exactly by 'untraceable'?
>> Do you mean "UnGoogleable"?

Unsearchable because unfindable because not enough traces for real name/url identity

Although Googleguy could probably track us all down if he cared to - just because most people would be searching for their own nick and their own url most on their fixed broad-band IP.

I have a friend who has the SERPS covered for positions 1-10 with his first name.

I'm not going to give it to you because some of those results have his personal details!

Let's just say he has an unusual first name and posts a lot on various boards!

That will tell him what company I work for, but no more. I.e. GG would have no way to know which one of the geeks I am or in what cubicle I'm sitting :).

Who having into truth, by telling of it,
Made such a sinner of his memory,
To credit his own lie.

#44 for "Durant." (I'd be higher if it weren't for the Durant automobile, Will Durant, and the city of Durant, Oklahoma!)

Did a search on forename and surname and came nowhere. I think there are a lot of famous people that I've never heard of with my name.

Also did a search on Kaled. Loads of results including some in arabic (I think). Finally found a WW post that I sent on 25th May. Coincidentally, it was titled "What's in a Name?".

Kaled.

Hmm- out of 9,130,000 I don't think I'd be in there for "Dean".!

Full name: Dean Harris - 689,000

Nope.

Well, at least an old profile of my full name with middle initial comes up. Still - 501,000 results using middle initial.

WW nickname- #16

I'm not sure if I qualify for this competition. I only have one name (which is therefore my first name!).

Anyway, on a search for "Bodhipaksa" I occupy nine out of the top ten results (out of 960).

Didn't even try Rich and I'n not in top 500 for Richard :(

The Richard at number 1 is a plain personal homepage, PR8 and over 1200 backlinks showing.

Maybe I can convince these top Richards for a "link in the name of brotherhood?"

#214 for Daria. Can't believe there are so many results for my name now, it was very obscure back when I was a kid.

What about us losers with no ego? :)

I can't be found via Google*, but some numbers anyway:

Firstname - 11,000,000
Lastname - 766,000
Firstname Lastname - 21,800
"Firstname Lastname" - 57 total, 27 displayed (1 fictional character & 3 real people with the SERPs heavily dominated by one of them)

I didn't think my full name was so 'rare,' especially since I share it with my father. ;)

*Well, you could find me if you search for my first name, the subject of my site in its broadest sense and a third, more topical, search term. Best third term I found, in 5 minutes of looking, put me at #5 & 6 out of 15,600.

I'm a blogless person, too. The #1 slot for my first name goes to the great Puccini [google.com], and being a music lover I'm quite happy with that. :)

On a site note, Larry [google.com] Page is not in the top 10 results for his first name, but Sergey [google.com] Brin is #1. Kinda funny, isn't it? ;)

Number 59 for Derek
But Brett said the rules were first names only, and I find I'm pushed down the list by Bo Derek.
Unfair!
