- hotel - most excellent. Everything it was billed to be.
- hotel bar - rather small, but cozy. Micro brewery within one block!

Last report, 50 percent chance I'll get a seat. Could be a long day tomorrow. Nobody drink until I arrive.
Re-met Brett, Caine, and Seth, met Mike, chatted with Jim, Shak, Learning Curve, HawkGirl, Quinn, ChrisR, Oilman (who's not middle-aged, as I'd assumed merely by the wisdom of his posts :) ), and I can't remember who else. (apologies for any misspellings)
Dominic's this noisy little room with a projection TV that takes up a goodly portion of the wall, a 100 sq foot dance floor that no one seems to use (the DJ would jack the volume sporadically in a vain attempt to get some people to shake their booties), and, in my estimation, a sadly lacking selection of beer.
...In other words, a perfect place for a pre-conference get together.
I'm really looking forward to meeting the rest of y'all tomorrow. Be forewarned: I'm bringing the camera...
can someone give me a wake up call in 3 hours, or I will sleep through PubCon.
just spent the last 2 hours talking to 3 female crackheads and "daveN" and nearly watched a fight when a passing druguser heard the term crackhead mentioned.
see, u can have fun without drinking alcohol :)
and if u really want some fun, maybe u want to have a vote on which members room should get a phonecall right now :)

heading down to bar for the next round.
This was the first pub conference I had attended and have to say “it was great”!
I talked to so many people and it was nice to put a face to the nicks. I noticed a common trait among those that attended…. They all enjoy people. I think sometimes we are viewed as people tied to their monitor/keyboard and almost reclusive in nature….wrong! I had flown in early Thursday arriving at about 10:00 AM and within a couple hours had hooked up and was chatting with members. I’m a lurker by nature but enjoy personal/group conversation and there was plenty to be found. It’s amazing how fast the days went by and failed to meet quite a few people I was looking forward to sharing conversation with. The UK presence was overwhelming (what a great bunch of people).
After sleeping a combined total of about 12-14 hours over the past four days I can only say I was losing my voice from talking so much and my sanity from lack of sleep.
I guess the icing on the cake was after getting a whole 2 hours sleep last night I called for shuttle transportation to the airport. Wasn’t looking forward to the ride as this meant my first PubCon was officially over – it was a welcoming surprise to see I was sharing the shuttle ride with Matt Cutts (another great guy). Had a great albeit too short conversation on a variety of topics (Matt, my Google pen still doesn’t light …Ha!).
As you can see I used the word “great”quite frequently throughout this post and that is how to some up the PubCon. GREAT people, GREAT topics, GREAT conversation, GREAT conference.
Thanks to all who made this possible and those that participated…………….
Everyone was awesome and it was so nice to meet so many people. Highlights for me... being called a "female affiliate crackhead" and then being introduced to everyone by that name the rest of the evening. :) The speakers were all great... Matt Cutts was very funny and the Overture guy gave a great presentation, along with the other presenters.
I met the man who trained me, which was totally awesome. Also learned that next time Mackin tries to take me ANYWHERE I should be wearing a snowsuit and earmuffs, since the freezing rains of Boston don't scare him. :) And I have almost lost my voice..either from Mackins wild tour through Boston or from yelling loudly over the music in all the bars.
The bar portion was great, affiliates meeting was nice and a good chance to get to know everyone. And let me tell you... I met some of the most educated people there that were so nice is was almost sickening. Everyone was fighting to pick up the drink tabs and believe you me, there were a LOT of those ;).
I think I got six hours of sleep total, LOL. Met so many great guys and gals and got a lot of motivation. I would name a few by name, complete with embarrassing incidents, but don't want anyone mad at me :). I was sober all weekend, so I DO remember all the ones I witnessed ;).
Whoever said they hear British accents in their head now when reading posts is correct. I hear them too.
I had a friend taking tons of pics... will post them when she gets back from Boston and sends them via email. Will be getting my own pics up sometime tomorrow, although I had forgotten my camera most of the time.
All in all, apparently I am a female affiliate crackhead who is now addicted to Pubcon and is already anxiously awaiting the next one in London which I hopefully will attend, assuming it doesn't coincide with anything out of my control. :)
To those at pubconf who I hung out with over the three days, you guys were awesome, I had an awesome time and can't wait to see you all again in London :). I got a lot of great advice and am very thankful for everyone who took the time to share.

I also witnessed quite a few embarassing scenes too - just hope I wasn't the source of any ;) And if I did, Shhhh!
ScottM, I would like to have one of those $12.97 pics - can I get a deal since I am in the photo, LOL.
With Mackin, it wasn't so much the cold or the rain, but it was that hurricane force wind that was the killer. By the end of our "stroll" through Boston, we were all arguing over who would pay for the cab - we all wanted to pay the fare just to get warm!
Everyone was wonderful, and it was great to finally put faces to the nicks. It was an amazing time, and even though I am ready to drop dead from exhaustion, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
The conference, as well as the before and after was great. But next time I will definitely arrive a day early to get more time to talk and hang out with everyone, and leave at least a day later, just so I can recover! I was one of the last to bed both Friday and Saturday.
London Pubcon... HERE I COME!
