I say I think b/c it is so bad it seems like a bug. There was also no weather report on the Yahoo! blog.
Anyone else seeing what I am seeing?
Are you seeing...
1. False authorities everywhere (wiki, gov stuff, etc)
2. Still a lot of blogs
3. Sites that were ranking vanishing left and right (for no apparent reason); at the count today, across multiple industries, we lost several.
I should also note that they are still mistakingly indexing junk URLs.

The more I'm digging into this update, the more problems I'm finding guys. I'm trying to set aside the blogs and false authorities in order to see why the remaining sites rank and it looks to be an absolute crapshoot, with no real correlation with on-page or off-page facotrs.
Textex, are you seeing that too?

its a amazing. Its like they are saying:
here are sites built with no regard to our guidlines. This demonstrates how pointless our blanket c block bans are when we leave these sites in and then boost them through the serps.
youd think it would take a lot of work to boost light weight sites as exclusively as this update has done.

Weird.
Yahoo.co.uk results have been poor for about 2 months or so (just before the last update) and I cant see much difference there.
Yahoo.com is kind to me - Yahoo.co.uk is not so kind for some reason - hopefully the results on .com are the future for my sites.

This could be the most screwed up serps I have seen in a long time.
Personally, I ended up getting to #4. We changed the way some new sites will work to deal with Y's indexing issues, but that's about it. They are very lucky that Google and MSN have stumbled in their own indexing/ranking abilities as of late.

Today: "round widgets": up to #3 ... "oval widgets": down to #47.
Hehe.
What is so interesting is that it's not like the site was penalized for "oval widgets" since it is still ranking for the phrase, just not as well as before. Something about what they've done likes one much more than the other. Backlinks are varied, and roughly equal in weight between: mentioning only round widgets, mentioning only oval widgets, and mentioning both.
Very spotty.
Brands are now ranking significantly higher than resellers/wholesellers. In many ways, those brands are false authorities, given that purchase-driven related searches are actually looking for resellers/wholesellers. Now, I'm not saying they just axed affiliates (but they did, let's not kid ourselves), but it looks like big-time resellers and wholesellers got hurt too.

[edit] If you're searching for something like "widget", a lot of searches now show "widget.com" as the first one or two entries, when this wasn't necessarily the case previously, even if the site should otherwise not even crack the top 30.[/edit]

So if they keep changing it.... I sure hope I keep climbing. ;)
Let's say something posetive here. Our site is an authority in it's industry and ranked extremely bad before, now we see some positive sings. We hope that we can all judge after the update settles. I am sure it will take a week or so. What do you think, how long will this take untill everything settles?
We some some postive results in our industry.
