According to some reports [news.com.com] yahoo is now ack'ing [webmasterworld.com] that the change to their "internally powered results" is offical. eg: goodbye Google.

honestly, I am not in Yahoo, and I seen an spam page in top in google, just look awful seing it in yahoo even without seing the page, only keywords................. that site has been banned by google, checked the site, and they changed the spam from hidden text to small images with links........... donīt think the result are that great.......... and as well in top small sites with poor pr in google, I am glad for them, but they arenīt that profesional as many sites that can be found pages later.

Google did push the R.E. field hard with their filters recently - killed em all! Good, Bad and the Ugly! Not fair in my book - I think it biased and all about the $$$ for PPC's.

I still see spammy results on Google too! Even with their filters set stronger (so they say). If I search for WIDGETS in MY AREA I get a company in California (nearly 4,000 miles away) with 2 paragraphs of hidden text at the bottom of the page filled with text containing my city name. You would think they could pick up this tick, perhaps the OLDEST in the book!

Yahoo will mature - and some sites will disapper and some will re-appear! I am just THANKFUL that the market is no longer a monopoly! When Google killed you in previous months (even for no spam) you were done, cooked, finished - now you have another big player - Yahoo/MSN and all of the other SE's that the corporation bought. Makes me sleep better at night - even so our site ranks LOWER on yahoo. Just no good to have all your eggs in one basket and that is the way we were forced to be (other than PPC) up until a few days ago...

Still a Google fan and supporter - just thankful for Yahoo as well!

yahoo now ranks some of our domains position 1-3. However when clicking on the yahoo listing - a result from our Inktomi (paid) inclusions - the links goes via looksmart, and even shows our looksmart tracking ID. Does anyone knows what is going on here.

I didn't see any Looksmart on Yahoo. I've checked about 10 URLs that I know we have tracking links (from Looksmart PPC) and nothing showed up in Yahoo. Only Overture and thats about it...

On the Inktomi Pure Search site (http://search.positiontech.com/InktomiSearch/PositionTechSearch.jsp), my site is at #3 for one of our KW phrases. On the Yahoo! serps, my site is at #6 for the same phrase, with the #2 coming from Looksmart (they are using a tracking URL with "/?looksmart" at the end). I guess Yahoo is using a blend of Inktomi and Looksmart, at least for our industry.

Thankfully, my site is comfortably at #1 on Google for most of our KW phrases.

First post for Yahoo. Like many I'm sure starting to take a much close look at Yahoo.

I have two different computers side by side each showing different results with the same keywords.
Have no idea how this can happen. Any ideas?

My sites are based in Canada. When I go to ca.yahoo I can see my sites in the top 4. With yahoo.com I'm nowhere.

Can anyone help explain.

I believe the difference is due to the fact that [ca.search.yahoo.com...] is still getting its traffic from Google whereas [search.yahoo.com...] is getting its results from Inktomi
