Welcome to WebmasterWorld Guest from 3.82.52.91
Forum Moderators: open
There are often times when I would like to post a question to get feedback from these people that I feel I have got to know and trust, but feel it is going to be off topic and either pulled or moved to another forum that I do not know or visit.
I have enjoyed the sometimes light relief banter that goes on here - and the sometimes flippant comments that get thrown around - re fridges, and mouse tracking etc. Is there any way that WW could almost put a subforum within a forum? ie "adsense off topic forum" or some such thing? Just a thought.:)

[webmasterworld.com...]
http://www.webmasterworld.com/google_adsense/foo
which doesn't exist YET.
me thinks Trannack is saying that it's cool hanging out here and that there should be a place where we can talk crap specifically with fellow adsensers.
edited... oops pressed that enter button too late. you beat me to it trannack.
by the way... Khensu...don't you ever sleep or do you have the uncanny ability to post in your sleep?
[webmasterworld.com...]
Although none of us have ever met, I often think of these people if not as friends, as working colleagues.
Well said, trannack, I feel very much the same! Especially since I work out of the house and don't have the typical work related social interactions and even if I did... I couldn't tell them about any of this AdSense stuff anyway.
There is 'foo', as efv has offered. I suppose I could hang around there more often but it just can't be the same. Most of the people there don't have the same nagging 'addiction' and here is the only place I know for sure I can read the unique and humorous bits that Khensu writes. I think OptiRex is much more likely to "toddle off to the pub" then to hang around 'foo'! ;-)

Each forum has a "charter" and you can view the Google AdSense Forum Charter here [webmasterworld.com]. That charter is aimed at keeping a focus on topics relating to Google AdSense.
Why not visit the other forums around here? Why not mingle with the other members? You may find a whole new range of "colleagues" with which to interact.
Why not post a topic in the correct forums where "other" members meet up and ping the contacts you mentioned and lead them to the thread where you seek feedback. I do that all the time.
Remember, WebmasterWorld is also an educational resource and you may be building the next great thread in the alternative forum.
Anyone taking threads off topic will be assimilated. ;)
by the way... Khensu...don't you ever sleep or do you have the uncanny ability to post in your sleep?
I know you're in AZ but the 5:23 AM post made me wonder as well!
Thanks Chapman at least somebody appreciates my sick humor.
I don't think sick is the right word... adroit and arcane perhaps but certainly habit forming! ;-)
Showing up here validates trannack's contention that there is a uniqueness to the community a bit different than the other Webmaster World forums.

The sun's gone over the yardarm on this glorious Autumnal day, great idea Chapman:-))
Now shall I have Old Speckled Hen, Tipsy Toad or Batemans?
Off topic 2: I'm still having the alt-text (very annoying).
To get a little bit on topic. The adsense forum tends to get a lot of posts and the answers come in quickly. Even when it's off-topic, every question asked gets an answer. This alone makes people post in this forum (just my guess).
It's also true that we want to get off-topic. Just because we're feeling funny, drunk, sad, lucky, angry, whatever. A little bit more tolerance for slightly off-topic posts will be appreciated by most members, I think.

I'll try really hard to keep this on topic since I too have been castigated once or twice recently.
I consider WebmasterWorld as the nearest I have to a workplace at the moment, in particular Adsense and Adwords forums - as trannack said, the regular posters in these forums are like my work colleagues. I try to be healpful to others and provide my contributions for what they are worth, but the odd aside and humourous comment - provided they are not offensive - IMHO makes everyday life more bearable.
I know about the foo forum, but a) its too far away, and b) I can't help being a bit more spontaneous sometimes.
It would help if there was a facility to add a "foo" type comment or possibly a shortcut to link out to foo, within and specific forum.
P
is a click dump to be expected this day
I sure hope so Bddmed, todays numbers are dismal!
Without a click dump I might become sad and angry that I was so unlucky and end up getting drunk... and that wouldn't be funny! ;-)
Thanks trannack... best thread ever!

Foosense, how's that!
You know what I hate, you can't make three exclmation marks in a row, guess this will have to do!_!_!
Evertime somebody say clickdump I visualize a garbage dump littered with hacked-off hands gripping mouses.

foo is the place for OT, as anyone who has frequented would know - not adsense
php [webmasterworld.com] is the place for curl/coding questions - not adsense
html [webmasterworld.com] is the place for browser/html concerns - not adsense
google search [webmasterworld.com] is the place for update questions - not adsense
plus there are many other forums where you can learn things and meet other members. You would be surprised how much more informative and interesting your threads would be if you post them in the right forum.
we encourage members to post in as many forums as is appropriate for the topics they are discussing
contrary to popular belief the world does not resolve around adsense, nor does everything in the webmastering world relate to adsense

Khensu I didn't realize how alike we really are! You have the exact same sleep pattern as me and much the same sense of humor...:)
Quick question....If Foo is so good (and I do visit and post there from time to time) why wasn't this thread put there instead of in this section?
Inquiring minds want to know.

from the charter [webmasterworld.com] for this forum
A place for us to discuss Webmaster World itself. Comments, questions, help, requests, feedback, and general discussion regarding the system are all welcome.
And Ann I have always laughed at your whimsy just never said it.
Opti, on Adsense Island the pub and the bank would be together in the same room.
The main difference between Adsensers and the rest of the forums is we are grinding out a living for ourselves (fully or partly) so there is more of a social bond. The rest are contracting/employed by others or working for themselves in other aspects, some might also be Adsensers/Adworders.

If I work in an office I can chat and exchange banter with people who I share the office with. An AS/AW foo would be like having a chat by the coffee machine. A Google Foo would be on the same floor. The webmasterworld foo is nearly like another building. Going there would be like taking up smoking again and hanging around outside the door with the other lepers!
But I do understand the need to keep it all topic specific - Social security payments for Adsense earnings and such like.
