How much do I have to pay to be part of Froogle?Zip. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Nothing. Inclusion in Froogle is absolutely free.
If anyone [ecom people] was thinking of taking the weekend off I would reconsider. Froogle is a great name, combine that with the trust that users have with the Google brand and you *may* have the best converting traffic you can get.
As we used to say in our house "first up, best dressed".
Thanks for the heads up feeder
Accepting datafeed for free is a good decision from google ...Actually i thought before that google will charge money for the feed ( like inktomi ) ...but they proved again that they are not corrupted as other SE's..
I think Affiliates like me should get into the next level of the foodchain...Start an ecomm store :)
If you sell services or custom products that do not have fixed prices, use your website only to promote an offline business, or are an affiliate marketing site, your site content may be crawled by and included in Google's web search, but it will not be included in Froogle. Nor will Froogle accept a data feed under these conditions.
suprise suprise - #@$(@#$*&#@&@!#%*!
I know that several Googlers have worked hard on this--I'm glad to see that people are enjoying playing with it. It's amazing what you can find on it! A friend had looked all over for a Playstation game called "Zanac x Zanac" and gave up. Just took a minute on Froogle to give him a couple good leads. :)
We're always looking for new ways to organize the world's information--this is a great way to explore new ways of processing data on the web.
Search on bicycle panniers. 2 of the first 30 pics are bicycle panniers. The other 28 are tents , racks and kid seats.
Problem is keywords. How can they be certain that words in a phrase have anything to do with the picture?
cindysunc , Google clearly states that the results will not include any paid placement....
I found a $0.11 Google Adwords in the serps of one key phrase I was searching on. It had something to the effect of - Pay For Click Advertisement preceding the title. Then mysteriously it disappeared and I can't duplicate it.
With a tracking url that has their name + the name of another search engine on it.
Care to restate any of that before you look silly? he he he.
Oh, wait I know - those are CPC ads in the results from the SEO firm and not affiliate links.
So, you are correct - sort of.

It's Google accepting that people have very different reasons for entering those keywords in a search engine box.
If you want to search for information, you may not necessarilly want breaking news.
If you want to search for info, you may not necessarilly want to buy something.
If you want to buy something you may not neccessarily want breaking news and info.
It's just another step in the direction of trying to provide the best results for a given query.
How does this threaten mom and pops cindysunc? Are you talking about affiliate sites?
It might well threaten affiliate sites, but my own view is that the affiliate model is an idea that has reached its peak. Affiliate models worked only while search engines were unable to find the actual source as well as they do now and in the future. I know that many will disagree with me, but the affiliate model, while not ever dying out, will become less viable in the future and has already passed it's "golden age".
For a user, Froogle looks good to me. It seems focused and very good for people doing dedicated searches.
