Hey guys, I was just wondering when the next google webcrawl is going to occur or has it already passed?

Thanks for your help

I think this whole Google Xmas logo is actually a riddle. Googleguy is watching this thread closely and will flip the red switch (it's big and red, but NOT a button) as soon as we've solved it...

Google have done a marvellous job making the monthly update into a PR (Public Relations) event among webmasters. And we are all helping them. I've been wondering a bit about this holiday doodle with the presents and about other things as well. My gut feeling says that this update may very well bring some dramatic changes in the algo. But I may be wrong. We'll see. The dance comes when it does. And it brings what it brings.

Well...had to jump in with some observations

The last Friday in Feb is Nat'l Beaver Day in Canada
Mar 13th is National Earmuff Day
Apr 29th is Penguin Day

and if ya count visible lightbulbs (I really have too much time on my hands) there are 28 lights

I say the update will take place tomorrow night (28th) sometime! Even the Googleplex has to shut down for New Year's ... doesn't it? Surely Googleguy doesn't want to be working over the "big night" and they will have to be there to be sure the update runs smoothly.

Marval, you're definitely on to something. However, I count 31 bulbs, and the rabbit definitely got those earmuffs to protect its sensitive ears from the bang of new year's fireworks.

Marval - I don't know whether to ask if you're related to Fox Mulder, what an interesting X-files sort of twist to a holiday graphic. Or maybe you really do have too much time on your hands, in which case my car could use a good scrubbing.

Hmmm, so maybe the penguin's red bowtie is a subtle hint to prepare for the red glare of New Year's eve fireworks.

Actually, the tradition for International Penguin Day allows for a red bowtie to be worn with the "tux" worn to show your support.

Of course the "yellow" box must be a honey of a deal from Google- something to do with appliances :)

Did you happen to notice a box missing?

Yes, and it is I who took the box.. while all you were paying so much attention to the bow tie, I slipped in and slipped out and youll never believe what was in the box.. well its all mine now. Thanks guys..

the rabbit has his ears covered so he hears no evil.
the pengiun has his eyes closed and so sees no evil
the bear has her mouth open and speaks no evil.
The beaver I just don't get!

This is the most disturbing thread I have read on here, yet I keep checking it to hear new theories.

Has anyone compared it to last years:
[google.com...]

I was wondering if the 4 packages may be 4 new services that google will offer for the new year. Email and such?

Back to the thread topic. Still waiting.

The beaver and the rabbit belong together. Google separated them to make it harder for us to guess. The beaver bad-mouthed the rabbit and the rabbit couldn't hear it anymore. The tooth brush is a punishment, but the beaver keeps smiling because all the webmasters are watching.

I watched the beaver closely these hours, i think he`s the 1 to push the button...but i don`t want his present, it`s too much damaged by his teeth!

632.000...again

If this thread keeps going this way I think that the admins will indeed move it to Foo.

Btw. has somebody checked the 632K lately? It would be most embarassing if the dance has begun and nobody here know it.

[ added ] thank you twin65 [ /added ]

> 4 new services that google will offer

Sure... why not:
froogle -
snoogle - the new global dating search, complete with
direct IM links and googleview so you can
goggle while you snoogle
boondoogle - all new SE for government contractors
zoogle - the new SE for finding rare animals in all
zoological societies

(hmmm, maybe it's me with too much time on my hands)

Hagstrom, I just noticed that the packages are NOT changing colors. In picture 3 bear & penguin as well as rabbit & beaver exchange presents.

Ain't it sweet?

This is heartbreaking. Sniff... Anyway, it confirms my theory that the rabbit and the beaver belong together! :)

Did anyone notice a green bill next the pengiun's right foot? Maybe that was his present, but the pengiun opted for the creative gift instead?

Where are all the _serious_ webmasters? Working hard to finish new pages before the deepcrawl? I was supposed to do that too...
