I don't know if this really means anything, but right now I see only 1000 backlinks for yahoo on www-sj.google.com.
Maybe they are just playing around with that database?

Just kidding, I think. ;) However, on www-sj my site currently is #1 for a certain single word SERP, and #4 on all other servers. It is more than the backlinks that have changed.

oh my god! I jsut checked site name and ishow up on #4 www-sj.google.com! ichecked normal google and i am NOWHERE to find there - since mysite was pr 0! I emailed 3 weeks ago google and they told "we will check about penalty"!Could it be that after almost 2years iwill get my pr back? or at least penalty removed? oh my...

there are for sure different resutls on www-sj.google.com and www.google.com!

is there are way to check PR on toolbar for www-sj.google.com? what is its ip?

I noticed differents SERPs too, and my site does a lot better for its main keyword on there, not that anybody really uses the -sj database directly.

1) It shows new cash results ... we made these canges just 10 days ago - and it shows them ;)

2) It doesn't show a lot of my sites at all ...

So probably they just play around with not all sites (yahoo backlinks partially shows, that there are just a few web sites).

I have notice ranking swing. Site which use to rank high droped, site which use to rank low raised! And some spammy site appearing. PR not so important anymore.

But overall the SERPs is good for me. ;)

Hmm...is the governor of Google starting to hand out more pardons for those on Google Death Penalty row? Obviously, this lowers the deterrance value to thinking about cheating.

There are long lost sites showing up with PR0 still showing. There are other higher PR sites dropping down. The index is showing less backlinks. This is really strange!

This is obviously some test datacenter that has not factored in all the variable from the algo.

The domain itself is grey with 0 back links. That should tell you something.

Yes it shows new caches, but who knows how old the algo is that is being applied when you do a search. I'm seeing postions for my sites from 6 months ago.

rfgdxm1: i crosslinked few of my domains 2 YEARS ago! i repaired everything like i could when i relaized what is all about.since then ididnt change anything on this site.My site was never "spam inits pure form".I see a lot of sites that crosslink and have HIGH pr all this time while mysite was pr 0.i think 2 years is like eternity in WEB time. idont know if they removed the penalty or not..but i think iwould deserve a second chance now... I am sure they will not remove spammer who got penalty last month.so if theyremoved penaltyit was "HAND" made bot automatic.:)

None of the data centers have displayed PR or backlinks as far as I know.

The backlinks being displayed are a mix of new and old from what I see. Backlinks from DMOZ categories that were reorganized and moved/renamed in January are still displayed in the backlinks for some of the sites.

Errrrr - I just checked the PR for one of my sites and www-sj showes a PR of 6 (currently it has a PR of 5)?! That is an expected increase but why is it already in the sj-database.

I would imagine backlinks being limited to 1000 has something to do with the fact that Google only shows the top 1000 results for any query.

So, they must be playing with the code on this data center and this is one of the by-products.

www-sj is not a test bed. (it might be now)

It is one of google datacenter, sj stands for San Jose.

Google have many datacenters and every search done on google.com is actually done by one of the data centers. You don't have control on which data centers to choose if you search from google.com. But luckily each data center is given a different domain name, such as www-sj and www-ex so you may go directly to them to search.

I think if they set sj to test bed now, then google.com will not direct the searches to this datacenter at the moment. just guess.

Just a thought...
On www-sj, backlinks are really low across the board for all the sites I checked. If the deep crawl is still ongoing, perhaps the index is being built live on www-sj. Would Google ever go to realtime processing of backlinks and continual updates like Inktomi does? Probably way off, but this all seems odd given deepcrawl isn't even over.
