"jokes" is a huge search term. always under-rated in general - but if you look at the stats, its always a top 10 searched term, sometimes top 5. its getting much more vicious to stay in the first page of results these days.

when i look at the user demographics of my jokes site, I dont think companies looking on the net to do marketing realize how powerful utilizing a jokes site for marketing products can really be - but i guess thats another thread "Under utilized, but highly popular, web site categories for marketing".

"jokes" has a healthy 6,900,000 results... 69 heh heh heh *beavis and butthead voice*

goes to show that you all are a bunch of over growns:)

You'll find what kids are searching for as the most competitive keywords, these happen to be names of video games, pop stars, etc.

next is current affairs, like iraq, sars, etc.

next is the newbeeies, who type stuff like Hotmail, Yahoo into the search box

then come the perverts, with sex and related

then come people looking for free stuff, ecards, kazza, etc.

around event times, words like Christmas, Easter and related become competitive

then come products like hotels, books, music, etc.

in regards to "competitive", for want of a defenition, competetive = no. of people searching in realtion to number of matches.
