Cont'd from:

[webmasterworld.com...]

When you are in your AdWords account and you send email to AdWords support, Google should automatically pass back the email associated with the account you are in when you request help from that account (or automatically populate the address field with the address asociated with the account and make it possible to change it if desired).

From a lot of the posts here it seem like many people assume it does or at least that Google somehow knows what account a support request is coming from. It seems like each support ticket sent from an account is not automatically linked to the account it originated from.

Sometimes it takes forever (>1 week) for an ad to be reviewed. I mail the support, and they fix it quickly. It doesn't seem to be a rational way of dealing with this by Google.

I'd like:
1. Quicker reviewing of ads.
2. To be able to see whether an ad is reviewed or not.
3. When ju submit a new ad you could get an estimate of the time for it to get reviewed, depending on the queue.

I would also like the person who started this thread:

kicked out of AdSense for coming to webmasterworld and advocating fraud.

Double keyword insertion, this should essentially enable bulk upload w/o having to import spreadsheets.

Right now via PowerPosting & dynamic keyword insertion you can create something like this:

Buy a {Keyword: Honda Motor}
Shop the Honda autoparts store
and get 20% off till Christmas.

Then Power Post in:

Honda radio ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl.com?{Keyword}
Honda oil filter ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl2.com?{Keyword}
Mazda radio ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl3.com{Keyword}

As long as you are only selling Honda stuff, you can post a bunch of stuff in bulk but if you also sell Mazda parts (and probably 100 other makes if you have a big shop), then you have to create new ad groups for all of this.

To get around this, "double" keyword insertion would solve the problem & might fit right in with the existing tech setup.

With most keywords you have a category associated with them and if you can dynamically plug this category (or other descriptor) into your ad, you have to write a lot less ads.

To set it up, you'd write the ad like this:

Buy a {KeyWord: Honda Motor}
Shop the {keyword2: automotive} store
and get 20% off till Christmas.

You Power Post it in like this:

Honda radio ** Honda autoparts ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl.com?{Keyword}

Mazda radio ** Mazda autoparts ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl.com?{Keyword}

Google would interpret it like this:

{Keyword} ** {Keyword2} ** .10 ** yourclickthroughurl.com?{Keyword}

where {Keyword} is the keyword you buy and {Keyword2} is just a term or phrase used to classify or describle the keyword.

No spreadsheets to upload, much more flexibility, and it just might fit in with the existing back end tech design as AdWords is setup now.

patent pending

It's been mentioned before.

The ability to move an adgroup to a different campaign without having to redo the whole thing.

Negative keyword matching per keyword

e.g.

widgets -red
red widget accessories

I know they can go in separate groups but it can be annoying with multiple keywords.

Hello,

The abilitity to bid separately on content and search positioning.

I would like another reporting option that allows for the reporting of conversions on the day the conversion actually takes place. The current reports report the conversion on the day of the click when the cookie was set.

As we represent quite a few firms where the sales (or lead) is not on the same day as the click this causes confusion and this option can be used to match sales from Adwords with the customer's backend.

The abilitity to bid separately on content and search positioning.

I'd settle for just being able to modify the content ad bids with a percentage. Mostly I'd want to reduce the bids, but I've got one campaign where content does better than search. On that one I'd increase the bids.

I would like to have another option in the reporting at Ad level and know which percentage of the time the default text in dynamic ads was shown (and thus know how much the dynamic title was used).

This helps to structure the keywords in the adgroup more effectively.

The ability to see all of the landing URLs in one report and the ability to make changes to those URLs from one spot, rather than going adgroup by adgroup.

Also, it would be really cool if changing a URL on an ad that's already been running did not trigger a review on the ad copy.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive.

I'll continue to pass these ideas on each week - although on Thursday evening, rather than Friday, these days. ;)

If you're going to treat caps and lower case the same, and hyphen/space the same, don't permit them to be independent listings.

Let me pre-pay by wire.

Last couple months I've spent 8.5k and 12k, but I still don't qualify for prepayment.

It strikes me as a little odd that I can get credit up to several thousand but I don't qualify to prepay (does that seem backwards to anyone else?)

Increase the max number of rows returned by the custom reports (it currently limits to 65,535 rows). Since we have significantly more keywords than that in our account, we currently have to run many reports (filtered by campaign or adgroup) which we then stitch together ourselves.

BTW I still want a log export, Google! No need to show user IPs, but I would love a log line per ad impression with all the relevant data (position, number of other ads showing, search partner, search phrase, campaign, adgroup, ad, keyword, clicked flag, click cost, time, etc etc). We're not holding our breath but it would be really helpful!

Ditto skibum's post about more flexible dynamic keyword insertion. (skibum, thanks for writing all that!)

Seems like it would be possible to easily crank out really targeted, really relevant ads that would leave the competition in the dust until they discovered it and learned how to use it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned and don't have time to read the thread.

It would be nice on the image ads to see where (what site) the clicks are coming from.

Hello,

It would be nice to have the ability to undelete an ad. It would also be nice to be able to pause individual ads.

Thanks.

I would like to see one simple thing:

Adjustment of destination URL to not reset your click-through records for that advert (pages sometimes move or different new pages become more relevant or tracking codes get altered or tracking methods get completely changed)

And one complicated:

Allowing bulk uploading of keywords/max per click/destination URL, in particular a feed direct from your site could be best. With choices for daily/weekly/two-week/monthly automatic updates.

1. A 'favorites' list for each type of page:
A. On 'campaign settigs', the ability to save a few campaign settings like language, geo target, countries, etc.
B. On the 'adgroup page', saving a few ads that will autofill from a drop down box.

2. An 'account status' page that lists disapproved ads, ads waiting approval, slowed/disabled keywords, recently deleted keywords/ads.

3. In the agency login, the ability to use a custom date range, see total conversions, clicks, etc by client.

I would like to see a calander type thing for the date filter of the campaign and adgroups. It would be nice to be able to quickly click through days and see what happened. As it is now, to see single days I have to set two values in the date filter by hand and then press the button to activate the filter. I'm hoping for an immediate change on click sort of like the today/yesterday drop down list. I know I could get the informaiton in a report, but looking at the maintance interface is easier especially if I am trying to make a quick decision on something.

Here's another one,

We are currently promoting some Windows-only software. We're seeing a number of clicks from Macintosh users and would love it if we could have our ads not show up for those users.

It wouldn't have to be too fancy, I'd imagine it could work sort of like the regional targeting options. We wouldn't need anything super accurate either, if it could just kill off the obvious Safari users we would be in better shape.

ALSO, like a lot of other people, I too would like prepaying ability. By wire transfer or something. Or at least it would be good if Google didn't FORGET to bill our debit card for 5 days straight and then try to put one impossibly large transaction through it at 6:00PM on Columbus Day when all the banks are closed and no one at all can possibly authorize a transaction that large!

Aaacchh! =:[

Sounds as if we owe you an apology on that one, nerowolfe. So, I hope you'll accept my apology - on behalf of AdWords.

And your other 'wish list' items will be included in the report that I'll be sending out late tomorrow evening.

Definitely better fraud checking would be appreciated. I can find examples of fraud nearly every day.

One example would be not counting clicks from certain user_agents that are clearly spiders.

That's a good idea sacX .. If Google just kept a list of known spider UAs that could save us all some money! Unless they are doing this already?
