EPC, CTR, and RPM are all back to normal. Fingers crossed it stays stable for a while

I've mostly been plagued by that (loan) advert. Every time I block it and ban the Ad Words account, it's back the next day under a new Ad Words account. I've banned at least 4 Ad Words accounts since the weekend.

The problem with blocking the long list of green download url's is that it is reactive and unlikely to be effective because the strategy seems to be to create a new domains on an ongoing basis. So once a URL is seen it is unlikely to reappear. Then adding all these urls to the block list may at some point start to slow down ad-loading.

@vegasrick are those ads showing up for many impressions? I saw them yesterday, they managed to get a 1000 impressions in just few short hours.

@nickmns, I blocked one today that racked up over 7,000 impressions this morning. And I blocked another on Friday that racked up around 4500 impressions in a few hours. Different domains and Ad Words accounts.

When I used AdWords, my ads had to be approved. Doesn't Google approve ads anymore before they're run? How did things get this bad that our block lists are so long?

I am all in favor for a joint block list. I added all domains listed in this thread so far. Some of the domains are stable, like howtosimplified... i have seen them for months.. thanks for the list guys n gals.

zloan.top using domain amgrade.com and executive-clean.com (dont block the domain as it probably have nothing to do with the scam but block the adwords account). #*$! racked up 10k views over one day...

There is no point in blocking the url zloanTop as these ads are the type that are unclickable and point to another legitimate domain. The "zloan" appears in the ad copy only.

Right, but you can find it by looking for the domain/s and block the adwords account. Block it enough times and someone might do something about it on google side... gotta do something. Just found another one... 7k more views that we did not earn anything on...

I found a new one also. With a sheep with glasses (funme.site) looks like it was only active on Jul 27th but stole over 9k + 8k +6k views.... yikes...these guys must have stolen millions of views from us god knows for how long.

Anyone else still seeing abnormally low CPCs... 1 of my sites is doing great the other 3 are earning about 1/2 what they should... even a little less. My biggest site is making about 30% what it normally does. This all started back on the 8th.. then it came back for 2 days.. then crashed again.

This makes no sense. It's a mix of low CTR and CPCs

There are some legitimate domains/accounts you have in that list Mentat. You sure they are all spam and not just ads that have not performed well? My daughter plays wizard101 :D

All domains are blocked for some kind of abuse.
On my original list, I have them by dates but is not easy to copy and paste.

Also, when the inventory is low, I can see a lot of spam sites that advertise on AdWords bidding garbage, but full of Adsense ads :)
As I said, I will maintain that list.

Yesterday earnings were much better for me.
I don't know if it was blocking lots of spammy domains (thanks everyone), or all of the other changes that I made, or if Google fixed something.

Google is slow to fix the holes. It's been a while since we all reported it to AdSense, instead of making changes they just banned those AdWords account which is a temporary 'solution'.

Today, I finally changed the layout. Hoping for better numbers now.

I see a lot of helpful information in these posts that would be sweet to put on a site dedicated for Adsense users. Referring to people sharing lists of ads to block and reports we can use to help us figure things out. Just wanted to say thanks either way.

@mentat that is a nice list, 2400 URLs long and growing. I have only got 750 and I have been adding new URLs sparingly. The fact that you saw the easyphotoedit.com domain in April disproves my theory that the spammers use the URLs only for a short time. So there is a benefit to blocking this stuff. But I am still concerned that as your list grows long that it will begin impacting ad load times.

@maximum with a list that long there are bound to be a few false positives. Another one I caught was AARP.org. My list includes URLs of competitors in my niche, so others may see them as false positives.

Unfortunately there is a 500 URL limit when URL-blocking in Adsense : / Sadly, this needs to be increased.
