SOME good news! I just received a report from AdX, and it looks like today's problem only affected my Adsense accounts, not AdX. I don't know what that means in the grand scheme of things, but... it's good for me, anyway.

@ vegasrick & sillysoft - at some point, possibly sooner than you think, it will be mandatory to use HTTPS to publish Adsense.

Browsers are already warning users that non-secure pages may be dangerous. These warnings have promised to become more severe.

Switching to HTTPS is easy and free. Get it done then you won't have to worry about it.

Yep. I'll switch to HTTPs next month. As that "not secure" thing may snatch away the readers and I believe AdSense earning no longer drops after switching to https.

So far today is slightly better than yesterday. So I'm not crying rn. Also contacted AdSense, hoping for a better response rather than a scripted reply.

Adsense earnings go up and down with HTTPS also, that's unrelated.

But dont you have to purchase a SSL cert for each domain so they wont get the untrusted message when going to your site?

The big tech companies got together and offer FREE security certificates. Go to:
Lets Encrypt [letsencrypt.org]

Also, if you're using cPanel then it now installs a free certificate for you

Why would anyone promote 2009 blog? Anyways, I don't find anything wrong in this but you can still block it.

Today, CPC is up by 0.02$ and RPM is same. No improvements, lol. It's been a week since I'm freaking out and there's no fix released by AdSense yet, pathetic!

If I had to rely on the UK then I would earn hardly anything. The lion's share comes from the US for me. Therefore, I really don't get going until later on in this afternoon, early evening. It seems that early on in the day CPC is fairly low, at the moment it is. 7p. I can see that the figures are pretty much spot-on because I've had 10 clicks so far and earnings are 71p. However, I will expect to see CPC get a lot higher when people in the US are more active. That's the way I see it anyway.

OMG. USA CPC just doubled and now earning is so much better. Wow! :D If it goes like this, then AdSense is back for me :D

Still, fingers crossed as sometimes Google cuts down the $.

@trebuchet - who is the advertiser for this ad?

If it is just some random advertiser - I suggest you consider blocking this.

I am blocking these kinds of ads and advertisers -- ones like this that are totally illogical, or un-monetized. I am doing this because they could later switch the destination URL, or even the ad creative if they are using Rich Media or a third-party ad-server, to something that is un-clickable or that leads to a destination with malware, phishing, or otherwise dangerous content.

If it is Google - my only thought is that it is some part of the Adsense algo trying to fill un-purchased inventory to send traffic to a Google property.

But even this is suspect as far as I am concerned. Are your site visitors likely to click on this ad? If it is clicked - is it likely that the advertiser is paying a decent bid for the click?

I might be wrong, but all the elements on a page have to be secure to get the little green padlock in the browser window. You can't just buy an SSL certificate and call it a day if your code has insecure elements. Is that correct?

Anybody else finding things rather slow at the moment? I have been stuck on 10 clicks for absolutely ages, doesn't normally happen

@cr1t1calh1t
Yes I have blocked it. As I said, nothing technically wrong with the ad but I couldn't see any logical reason for it. Could be a clumsy Adwords error or the accidental activation of old ad stock, I guess. Either way it's outa here.

Today is good. Not what I had last month but still better than huge drops.

I guess Googles search ads aren't so bad.

Just searched on Bing for a popular destination. 4 ads on top of the page and five ads on the right side of the page.

First search result just peeking over the bottom of the monitor which is set at 2560x1400

Slow? Absolutely dead with all four paws pointing in the air, almost the least traffic I have ever seen.

Undoubtedly trade holidays is one effect however discussing with trade colleagues they also confirm a massive reduction in web visitors this year, for whatever reason either our products have fallen out of favour or Joe Public is simply not using the Net to source their supplies.

SERPs rankings are unchanged.

FWIW I have been taking some massive international project orders however general wholesale trade enquiries are down, September will be the test for those.

Numbers look good for me finally. Oddly, I removed one ad unit, and RPM increased. Well, less is more sometimes.

Why does the USA traffic always drop for me on Friday? Is something special there this day?

Absolutely. All *absolute* paths need to use the HTTPS protocol, even those from remote sources. Intra-site links can use relative links.

It's summer,
It's very hot in Europe
Entire industries are closed during August
Now we all have smartphones, that we can use in weekend, so that's why is such big dent in traffic and $ during weekends.

I try to stay calm, as July and August are really bad and with surprises...

My problem is that my industry is almost missing in the last year from AdSense and this is very, very strange!

All I see now on my site are IBA's...

On the other hand, if you hit the keyboard with your fist in google search box, you will see results and ads! Adwords for search is a hit, this is still giving Google each year more and more money!

After a very promising start to August, today is really slow and CPC has dropped as well. It was 9p this morning, is risen slightly to 12p. Yesterday it was around 21 or 22p.

It is still believes afternoon early evening in the US so I've still got a good few hours to make up a bit more money

What Maximum44 said. Friday and Saturday have been my slowest days of the week, in terms of traffic and revenue, for the last 20+ years.

This month so far vs same day last month, page views up 10% impressions and earning down 20%.
Ads in chinese ( I think it is chinese ) all over my site.

"Weather" query in G Search knows my locality, adsense can't figure the Country :p

Yep, I'm too seeing Chinese or Japenese ads. Why I'm targetted by such ads in India where we don't speak Chinese? That's a blunder by AdWords user!
