August 2017 AdSense Earnings & Observations

WooHoo ... Now my AdSense day starts at midnight UK time I logged-in to a pleasant surprise of PVs plus earnings this morning, I feel better already:-)

Not quite sure what's going on with my account this morning, however, I am not complaining.

My page RPM is £10.72 and my CPC is 51p with Paige CTR at 2.09%

I know that these figures will be back to normal by the end of the day, but it's nice to see things a lot higher than I've ever seen them before, maybe it's a sign of good things to come.

Since I put my new layout in place things are definitely improving.

August has been utter garbage for me at -20% v 2016 with the USA dramatically down, if it continues like this for the next couple of months then there will only be one outcome.

Count me in, August is awful. And today, the views is down - quite expected as it Saturday, I fail to understand where do my USA viewers go on Saturday! and especially today, it is 70% down - unbelievable! While the CPC is really good.

If you haven't had many clicks than your CPC will probably remain fairly high. The more clicks you get the lower the CPC drops for some reason. When I first checked this morning I had six clicks and my CPC was 51p. I'm now up to 14 clicks and my CPC is 29p. The same with the RPM. This morning it was just over £12 when I checked, now it's just over £5. When this happens with me it always corresponds to earning a few ££s from just a small handful of clicks. The more clicks I get the lower the two values drop. This is why they might as well not be there because they don't tell you anything that's going to make any sense.

Having said that, as of late my page RPM is typically around £2.50, £3. Very rarely drops below £2, even if I've had 60 clicks in a day.

Indeed, the US payment is not right, very, very low.

Mentat, are you also seeing a drop in USA traffic today? It is down drastically here, may be because of the hurricane - everyone is busy or has no working internet connection, could be possible after all.

The hurricane is only affecting the south-east so it might cause some drop in traffic. The big fight is on later so that might be another factor.

I'm seeing a drop in clicks today too. The hurricane is affecting Texas and Louisiana. Not sure that's what's causing the drop. Last vacation before Labor Day and people are away maybe?

I don't think the weather or holidays are to blame (unless you target the affected areas). Most of my traffic comes from the US and I am having a very good day.

Today whole day gone in fight spams from black magic Baba and Maulvis.
No productivity stuffs done.
Adsense too down.

It is better to block Russian and Indian ips.Almost all spammers come from here.
Unluckily my 100% traffic is from India.

Just checked Google Analytics and noticed a drop of 53% in traffic from California, 78% from Texas. The hurricane affecting my traffic USA CPC is good but only a few clicks :(

Hopefully, it will recover soon. How's the day for others?

Saturday saw my lowest-ever earnings' day and nearly my lowest-ever PVs' day,

So far in August USA earnings v 2016 are -25%, mostly all I see are US visitors copying images these days and then ranking above me with the most unbelievable and crappiest of spam sites with Google not even recognising my original images.

I'm guessing September is going to be my last AdSense month plus I may pull several sites simply because Google's in-built bias towards specific US companies in my niche is making it pointless even trying to gain further business there.

Whilst I appreciate that this is not the Google Search forum Google evidentally has a problem with keyword spamming again with useless pages pushing down relevant pages thereby definitely damaging our potential earnings.

Furthermore I just saw one search result page with 4 ads followed by 6 organic plus a further 4 ads.

Why are you even bothering with organic Google?

Today is disastrous so far but at least I know the culprit. Australia = several thousand page views, clicks in single figures. Well done.

I can't blame them for not clicking though. A quick scan through ad delivery is disheartening. Most of it is utter rubbish.

Today has hardly got off the ground. It's a bank holiday here in the UK, however, I don't really get much traffic from the UK so that isn't to blame. Is the US having a holiday today?

For many areas in the United States, today is the first day of school for kids in grades Kindergarten through 12th Grade (Ages 6-18), as well as some universities.

This can cause changes in students internet usage, obviously, but also that of their parents.
