Many advocate that to combat reliance on visits through Google Search you need to build a brand. Obviously it is not enough.

@Milchan

Good to hear that more buyer traffic is coming on your way same happened to us giving false impression that a recovery is taken place but in the long run buyers keep disappearing while wondering what is wrong with your website.

Lots of crawling activity, including multiple crawls of the same page with no crawls of our newest product pages. Another update brewing?

No recovery for me, not even a bit.

Also, it's 12th July and still no updates? It's quiet.

I think something happened July 1st and a few on here were reporting movement and changes around that time. Personally I dont think it matters if there was a core update or not when there are daily adjustments anyway - the only thing that matters is if one of those adjustments has an effect on you/me/us or not.

Yep. A lot of folks are seeing fluctuations. Most of my US sites are up. Most European sites are slightly down.

@whoa182 Mercola, someone I don't necessarily agree with on many topics, is also making quite a bit of noise on his Youtube channel about this update. And also has a big article up on it.

I wonder if Mercola were to start running Google Ads, if Google will be okay to allow his ads to be placed on top of organic results?

I am definitely noticing some fluctuations out of the ordinary. After a quiet week, it appears that Google is releasing an update.

I'm noticing huge fluctuations, but I don't know if it's because of the work I've been doing to my site or what.

Anyone else seeing it?

@whoa182 – Possibly a combination of both. If you feel that you've done a lot of work on your site, and there's an update “supposedly” rolling out now, perhaps Google reassessed your site positively. There's definitely still something happening though. We are seeing slight improvements in rankings and I'm noticing some competitors sites that saw increases back in March/June core updates now plummet substantially and losing their rich snippet stars.

Yup, looks like an update. SEMRush is spiking in the UK right now to 6.4 Desktop and 6.8 Mobile. Not showing any changes for the US just yet.

I've had a jump in traffic, hard to tell how much right now but seems to be around a 20-25% increase.

The June update hit me -65%, so I've got some of it back but traffic still quite low.

I made NO major updates to my site since the June 3rd update that cripped my site. The only updates I've made is to fix a few broken links and I decided to disavow spam links to my site.

The changes I made should not be enough to change my traffic this much. I'm starting to think Google algo changes are just assumptions they think will make search better but may also make it worse, then in furture updates they adjust. If true, that's annoying as it means all of us are going to go through periods of getting low/high traffic with very little control on making improvments and will have to sit and wait for the next update.

Just as I suspected, a new update from Google here in the USA and apparently elsewhere. Maybe it's Google's Prime Day update to give Amazon even more domain crowding, top spots, etc.?

[semrush.com...]

An update might be rolling out in the US as well.

No changes for me. Probably I've been left out again :(

I'm seeing some big fluctuations for several of my domains some are losing ground. What I have noticed over the last 10 months or so is that there is really never any improvement in the quality of the search, it just seems to move from A - B then back to A over the last several updates the rankings fluctuate. What I see in my niche (beauty and fitness) there are either more web 2.0s ranking followed by Pinterest and Amazon but there really never seems to be an increase in quality organic results.

About three weeks ago I had a streak of good traffic that actually converted for a full week, never did I believe it would last and of course it didn't. If it's one thing Google has mastered is manipulating the algorithm.

Lost about 60% in June Update and traffic is continueing dropping.... electronic/technic niche.
The thing is, if I search for terms, in which I lost more than 70%, i am still on position Nr.2. (Inkognito Mode and from different devices tested). Why did it drop about 70%? Any of you with same pages?

No changes here yet...my traffic has plateaued in June and July at the new lower lever and has not recovered in the slightest since then, despite SEMrush showing my ranking as having recovered nicely. There is no there there with Google anymore. The inquiries I am getting are from very low quality customers in very far away places that I don't serve.

Maybe they fixed the indexing issue that was going on. All my clients are spiking this month too. Enjoying it while I can. Google and the wife have the ability to convince me I don't know nearly as much as I think I do on a regular basis so not not doing a happy dance just yet.

I'm seeing a spike since 4pm EDT, but it looks like this partly due to a link shared on reddit. So not sure here, but it looks positive.

Kinda off topic here, but I have been noticing this for the past 6 months now. Whenever I do an exact match search (using quotes) of a bunch of text from an article (any random article from any random site on the web), the top result is seldom the original article; it's generally duplicates of the original article (sites that copied the original article). The original article generally ranks at the 6th or 7th spot. Just wanted to put it out there. Hopefully Google fixes this soon.

We had made a very good recovery in the last 2 weeks. However, since Friday, things have massively dipped again. Looks like Google is about to unleash another algo update. Sit tight!

Same here @MayankParmer. My site have been down by 75% since the June Core Update and not even a slight recovery since then. It was like my site was put in a black prison in the middle of an ocean.

There's no sign of any recovery anywhere...those of you seeing a 25% uptick are very fortunate. I've been slowly losing traffic since Sept 2018 and it has never returned, the decline just finally stopped. I'm preparing for life post Google because the 60% of the traffic that remains is providing very few good leads.

I can confirm that on my end yesterday's uptick was the only result of a link posted to reddit. Traffic is back to the same today.

im not sure if anything has changed but after having conversions at a steady enough rate since July 1st even though traffic remains relatively low, today there has been nothing at all.

It seems the traffic is less relevant though as traffic levels are slightly higher, bounces rates are higher, average number of pages viewed per session and session length are a lot lower.

certainly looks like something is happening - I can see the serp positions juggling around a lot. I search a keyword one minute and then the exact same search a few minutes later its all changed positions (using private mode, firefox, not logged into google account etc)
