I had the same pattern before getting it. But this slow bleed was mostly because I didn't had much time to take care of my website for private issues.

I think the penalty we had, I think because still here, is a technical one. We had a lot of pages get indexed maybe on a mistake on our side resulting but tripling the pages indexed and also leading to 404. I'm not in the Health/Firness niche. But the fall started in February 2018, and since then was very slowly going down. Each time I could see a raising trend I was hammer on by a new major update.

Since July traffic is very strange (organic), but because It's the first time I have to deal with a penalty don't know if good sign or not.

I give myself until September to clean the site deeply and see what will happen next. !

@NickMNS same for me... An approximately 40% loss, but it started in September of 2018 with a huge drop. Then it's just a slow bleed of traffic ever since the March update saw a big drop, but inquiries were still coming in until early June, when it went completely silent. In my case my CTR has dropped across the board and dramatically.
