The following message was cut out of thread at: https://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4944194.htm [webmasterworld.com] by robert_charlton - 11:00 am on Jun 1, 2019 - (PDT -8)

Also, with the ad model a majority of people know that you are trying to get something out of them - a purchase, a signup etc - so there is a lesser level of trust there but if they find you through organic whilst they are in the research stage and you provide good info and value, then there is trust built and you get more sales.

On the other hand, people who are actively shopping for a product or service may regard ads as useful information. That was the concept behind Yellow Pages directories and magazines like Computer Shopper.

21 year old niche widget directory site seeing it's lowest-ever traffic levels ... Time to sell the name, if possible!

just saw a "more results" button instead of a next page button which expanded the SERP instead of opening another page. Desktop search

scroll down results

It required a manual click on the "more results" button, then more results would show as the page expanded.

Just noticed that my site has moved up a couple of spots for its main keyword, from #4 this morning to #2 this afternoon. Hopefully it's a sign of good things.

I can see the "more results" button when I search with chrome in normal mode but when I search incognito for the same terms I get the usual next type pagination

I can see the "more results" button

It's very intermittent, not sure if it's something they are rolling out or just testing.

My traffic is stable, currently remaining at rock-bottom thanks to the previous 20 updates.

Definitely noticing volatility in the SERPs, back and forth flickering. Same patterns as I've seen after the March 12 Core update. Some weird new sites appearing. So far it appears that we're stable and on a slight uptick. Too early to tell, but remaining hopeful. After the March 12 Update, it was pretty evident the following morning which direction our site has taken, which was down.

It can take up to a week to full roll out for all keywords.

So funny to see you all champing at the bit for big changes and riches. You'd think you would have learned something by now. This will be just another huge nothingburger / punitive move...as usual.

of course, that is what happens when an update rolls out. It if far too early to ascertain how this will effect anyone yet

It can take a lot longer than that. Unless you have resources to point to where Google is saying 'up to a week' please do not guess.

Well that was a bit of an anti-climax. But as others as have said, maybe it takes a few days to fully roll out.

Of course, sites that appear higher up the page will still get more clicks.

No sign of any increase or decrease in traffic after the update.

Of course, sites that appear higher up the page will still get more clicks.

But the elimination of that click to load the next page is HUGE.

I wish I wasn't warned of this update honestly. I mean, what is the point? Google is probably just tacking on an extra sleepless night I'm about to have. Confirm the update when its completely rolled would be my preference. Not like a confirmation gives us anything to go on usually anyway. Always in the dark as an SEO

Does anyone think that this could be one of those updates where not too many webmasters will notice changes, much like the June 2015 Panda release (when Google announced it weeks prior)? Or do you think 8 hours since the official release time of the update isn't enough to stir up chatter?

My main site is down 30-50% today, hope you all did much better than me.

Danny Sullivan from Google did say that this update is not big and nothing special. I think everyone was concerned only because this was the first time Google announced an update ahead of time.

I'm thinking that regardless of what Google has said officially, this update started rolling out late last week. I saw significantly more fluctuation since Friday and over the weekend than I did today. In fact I've seen almost nothing today and I am always rocked by even small updates that most people barely notice.

I am also basing this 100% on anecdotal evidence. I'll continue to wait it out and see like everyone else should.

@lostshootingstar - I get what your saying , I saw big drops last week and many others reported this also yet google said there was no update. Now maybe there was no update but something happened for sure because the sheer volume of people reporting so confirm this. Ultimately though it doesnt matter if it was an update, an algo tweak or a cleaner spilt her mop bucket down the back of a server causing a chain reaction - all we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best (and just get on with the day to day stuff we need to do anyway of improving our sites).
Ive not really notice any difference myself today but it is still only about 12 hours in so lets see how this week pans out.
