A number of my sites all had updated page rank today.

Im In Uk Mine has updated, still a PR4 for home page, but all my inner pages now have PR

Personally I have not noticed any difference in PR as of yet, however SEO Roundtable just released a short post based on discussions here, DP Forums, and Twitter sighting lots of instances of PR change: [seroundtable.com...]

Interesting; the home page of the site I relaunched in September went down from 4 to 3, however some internal pages are showing PR now, and TODAY for the first time since September, G is displaying the home page without the www. (We specifically relaunched WITHOUT www, all the internal pages dropped it just fine, but Google stubbornly kept it for the home page for four months)

Also noticed that internal pages are starting to rank high for the first time yesterday and today. All is good.

yes I concur netmeg, there looks to be a major game changer w.r.t. serps today...not sure how this will work on traffic and adsense (especially for those who are already seeing a big change there)..will need to wait for a few days to see whether this will be the pattern going forward...

well I expect a few to jump out in joy and others to cry in the next few days...

Does anyone have an idea how old this PR is? I have sites created after the summer with no PR (despite many inbound PR links with low link count). Three sites from May got PR on the other hand.

I noticed some of my competitors have improved PR but you still can't find them in the top of any valuable SERPs so what good is that PR if you don't know what to do with it? ;)

It's still useful when you trade links, and it's nice to have around when you visit blogs and such. Get a fast glance how popular it is based on links.

I use the SEOBook SEO firefox extension.

I don't care about the TBPR, but because I just did a major site relaunch for a client, it's one more indication of change - specially since our internal and CMS pages started actually showing up for important searches on the exact same day that a TBPR update is reported. That seems... interesting.

I have no explanation. I only report. They also took the www off the home page too (same day/time they dropped it to PR3) It *could* be a complete and utter coincidence. Mebbe.

I have a site that deals with a specific city and it ranks #1 for a 3 term phrase. It's a pr0 site and outranks a pr7 site who is listed at position #4.

Those who are so caught up and fascinated in pagerank are usually riddled with so many over optimization penalties. But hey, as long as they are happy with there PR, I guess that's all that matters to them.

I purchased a PR1 site in December, I purchased it because it was receiving about 3k uniques a day, only about 800 a day from the US. It is now a PR0 and it gets about 10k uniques a day and 3k from the US. Traffic improves every day and yet since I bought it, it has lost what little PR it had, so what does that tell you?

I have PR3 from PR0 for a new site, the rest are the same.

@netmeg , i had a ~5% increase in traffic in few days after i got a better PR.

I have a site with just under 10k "blog spam" type links showing in Yahoo Site Explorer. It's about a year old.

It's a one page wonder with thousands of #*$!ty links, just jumped from PR1 to PR3.

I agree too, something's been brewing in the serps as of late yesterday...not great news for me since I seem to have taken a slight hit but we'll see how things play out over the next few days.

My went from PR3 - PR2 earlier today but have just checked again and is now back up to PR3 but inner pages have dropped! Joy!

I have different exepience - also with major site re-launch that was done mid October. Home page was PR6 and is now still PR6. After this PR update all internal pages remained PR0.

Relaunch included new IA, URL rewrite used across the whole site with one to one 301 redirect from old dynamic URLs. The site also has fair amount of deep links to internal pages.

After relaunch, PR0 URLs immediately started to rank better than previous dynamic URLs, but with this PR update we have seen no change in PR for internal pages.

Any diagnostic tools for those of us with sites that are PR0 yet again? I've got two other sites that are PR2 (including a blog that I hardly ever touch that has very few backlinks). Not an expert by any means, but not completely clueless either.

This is the most movement in PR I've ever seen on my wesbite. Some kind of change in the calculation method perhaps?. My PR5 homepage is down to 4... but a key inner directory has maintained it's PR5.

If you mean your home page shows gray on the toolbar - well, there's no tool that's going to grab your "real" PageRank from Google.

If you mean a white PR 0, then you'll only see that go up if you get some strong backlinks from other sites. And even then, you' need to wait until the next PR update AFTER Google indexes those new links.
