Wow - this looks like a major major screw up by Google this time (lol yet again)

It is almost as if the allinanchor, allintitle and therefore other serps have been turned off for 2-3 word searches in the sector I watch.

Worst results yet. Someone said reverted back to results/algo/scoring prior to or at the beginning of Big Daddy - this could fit in with what I am seeing.

I don't care about that site of mine that got hit in fact I hate it,it never brought me any big revenues ,what bugs me is that scamers with hidden links and KW text stuffed crap had taken my place .Well as the wise man sayed ,don't put all your eggs in one basket ,if you want to survive in the wild wild web ,make pages for Yahoo ,pages for MSN and pages for Ask ,make dot coms and dot co uk ....just in case/;)
PS I'v done that long ago and I survive very well indeed.Only one of my sites with just 130 pages (nowhere to be found in Google) but top in MSN and Ask for 130 KW's brings a 4 digit $ every month :)

Well Im happy. All datacenters are now showing Coppra including the C block. Im in position 9 (first page) for the first time since Florida.

Its amazing, that on the datacenter thread, most of us have been cheering on Coppra, and finally when the update finally hits, we get the 'complete disaster thread'.

If these people were watching the datacenter thread, they would have known that major changes were lurking.

Now that the update is done, maybe google can spend some time fixing the supplemental mess, update the page rank and back links, they have been neglecting the past few months.

I'm seeing 3 different DC groups. Two have only subtle differences. These are significantly different.

I suspect the update (if this is THE UPDATE we've all been waiting for) can't be over yet.

I was checking the SERPS last night about 21:00 onwards with total disbelief. A newer site of mine just gained top place for all of my target phrases for 90 pages all at once - that's basically number 1 for 90 keyword phrases. Its like I just asked Google to return my pages as top for the exact phrases I said and G just said ok - here you go.

It must be a blip...The pages do have a very common theme/structure in the way they're set up so I think that maybe a filter or 2 is not being applied fully yet.

A final what seems merging of the Corpra and top of Turd in UK DCs.

Although i'm still seeing flux on @ 6 C-Blocks - i am in the personal finance sector - so it's not over yet.

"the complete disaster thread" exists because what has occured has next to nothing to do with either the two main strains of results. The copra stuff moving to all the numbered datacenters isn't even particularly noteable today. The two things to note are the mass introduction of supplementals and the resulting loss of numerous sites and pages from the results, and what appears to be the non-use of any of the results displayed in the mcnameless group of numbered datacenters.

Couldnt agree more - at least the serps match the search string on that data centre however, as its a minority data centre i fear its not likely.

I just cant see why they have rolled out the current mess onto the majority of data centres?. Im seeing results for search terms that are not even on toppic!

In fact ive had a good look at the serps in 64.233.189.104 and this is a real quality data centre.

Im trying to work out what they have added to this data centre (or not removed) that makes it so relevent.

Any ideas?

I can live with any of the last 3 data centers mentioned. The current results are going to cause me an ulcer. I just don't understand why I did not lose all of my pages.

For Instance I used to rank in the top position for widgets for sale in specific states. Now I only rank at the top for widgets for sale in half of the states. I dropped completely out of site for the other half of the states for no reason.

The other problem is that I used to Rank at the top for Blue Widgets, Yellow Widgets and so on. Now I only rank at the top for red widgets. And the others are out of normal site.

All of the pages have similar page rank, links, content flow with different content. Why would half stay and half go? Strange. In the past If the serps had problems All of my pages dropped.

64.233.189.107 looks like standard Cobra results for the search terms I've been tracking.

In other words, it is not anything completely new. Whatever algo differences are distinctive about that DC they aren't affecting the particular keywords I've been using for tracking Cobra.

Does anyone know which way the the data is moving - for example into or away from the data centers mentioned? I can find good results on about 4 DC's at this point including the ones mentioned in this post. Is there always a common starting point for these type events?

Traffic has plummeted by about 70% over the past 26 hours on one site, which was my biggest revenue generator, by far.

Any predictions?

Yeah, that their next data push will be as screwed up as this data push and every previous data push since 2003.

This one is particularly bad, so hopefully they will do another which will be less inept.

Ditto here. Half my widget states are gone, other half still okay. Blue widgets are fine, but red widgets dissapeared.

Over all, a 60% drop in traffic just today.

I get the feeling Google is dangling between an older index and the new one. They just reverted back to an index from about one week ago.

I say this because I have an expired domain I just got back into Google, it was ranking very well for almost two weeks delivering over 5000 uniques, now it's hardly showing at all. I know it will be back as I have altered nothing and it's a quality site with great backlinks.

Anyone else see this?

For us the results are slightly better with a couple of three word phrases coming back in from the cold. Overall though, hardly any change. I can't say if the results are better or worse for the public - so I won't say if these serps should stay or go. It would be great to have an independant body report on movements in search engine relevance - is there such a thing? At least it would give us all a clue as to what is going on, though I do have a morbid fascination in seeing the chatter in the two camps: 'site's doin great' or 'site just bombed'...

on a windoze machine, start, all programs, accessories look for command prompt and click

a black window opens the cursor will be flashing just type ping www.google.com or co.uk or whatever your home page for google is it will return 4 packets each with the IP your looking for
