PR update start?
No changes for my bigger sites, btw.
When one reads on the various forums comments like 'my one month old site went from PR0 to PR6', this can only be seen as a glitch.
I agree. I have two sites that went from PR0 to PR6. As far as I'm concerned neither one of these sites is PR6 worthy. But if G is handing out PR I'll take it.
This is exactly what happened to our website, was a 0 yesterday and a 6 today.
We do have some pretty strong sites linking in and we are currently #1 for many of our major keywords on the SERP's. I would hope it will stick at a 6 as it should.
Most of our inner pages are a 5 or 6 now too, we are pleased to say the least :)

It looks like only sites that had a PR 0 are geting an update!
looks true for me too, all the pages created between Feb last week and March 25th are now PR4 same as my home page. Many of the new pages are not even worth PR2. even a new link page created in March is now PR4
My PR has gone from 0 to 6 today. I also noticed this new value is propagating across the datacenters.
and yest the update is stable across the datacentres, though its a good news for me looking at number of pages going from PR0 to PR4 but anyway if given a option i would like my home page go up a notch or two without any updation in internatl pages
All my old sites are the same but a three week old one has gone PR4
one of my sites acquired in January last week, which went down from PR3 to PR0 in Feb update is now PR4
I have 1 month old site I built for a friend. it has 16 pages ALL pr5. Last update it was too late to get pr but now......why cant i do this with my own sites?
when you find it out please let me know, even i want my site to be atleast PR5. Even i am regretting, why didnt i created some content for few of my parked domains
i think the visible pr update is just a reflection of the mozilla created bd index. In other words its a mess. I wouldnt be looking for the logic behind the huge number of anomolies. Perhaps its a shock to google too.

I got 2 sites from 0 -> 6 that is not real ...
Perhaps G changed something on the PR calculation?

Stabilizes to what? A 6 month old index? The various new ones that only count 5% of sites' pages?
Listen to this you'd think things are just humming along at Google with no problems.

The newest site is the only being actively promoted at the moment. But I smell fish. Nothing goes from 0 to 6 in 1.5 months.
My old sites that have homepage pr 3's and 4's have subpages that I created in 06 that have pr 5's
I started a new site in Feb but missed the march PageRank update by a few weeks I'm gussing... now after getting a few PR8, PR6, and PR5 linkbacks it's showing PR7! While my main site (added the PR8s as well) is still sitting on PR6.
Not only that but most old sites I've checked haven't changed in PageRank... while the new sites are. So is this a PR update for new domains only or what? Why is my main site still PR6 while a new one with way less links is PR7.

I guess by now, most of you have realized that what we see now isn't the traditional PR update.
And you may well ask what is it then?
IMO, what you see is an attempt to fix canonical issues and the folk at the plex are testing the effect of PR as a fix-factor.
The real PR update shall take place sometime down the road, though.
Until then, enjoy your PR6 and PR7 ;-)

The PR updated is generated by the Mozilla Googlebot and has possibly got a different way of calculating PR.
People posting that they have gone from 0 to 6 in 2/3 months and say that is not possible/must be a bug - used to happen all the time in the old days for a start. Besides one PR7 BL would easily do that.
Other saying that they were banned and now have PR back - what do they mean by banned? - not appearing in the serps? or just a downranking?
In other words are they 100% sure it was a ban - if they were still in the serps then it is not a ban and other reasons should be looked at for the page going to PR0 - Mozilla Googlebot might have solved those other reasons.
Remember everyone was saying Bluefind was banned and I said looks like a Canonical issue - well Bluefind has PR back to 6 now.
What it seems to be at the moment is that Google are taking over the old Googlebot index with the New Googlebot index generated by Mozilla Googlebot.
But it does not look like a flip the switch procedure - we obv. have PR generated by the Old Googlebot on pages which already had PR prior to Yesterday - the new pages that have since been added have PR generated by Mozilla Googlebot.
Actual serp positions I am not sure if they are still controlled by the old ranking scores - as although Mozilla Googlebot has allocated PR to pages which were a 0 for a while - no ranking changes have really occured (EG Bluefind example - Bluefind has been in the 30s-50s for a search on Bluefind for months and months)
So possibly we are gradually moving accross from a old Googlebot scored index to the New Mozilla Googlebot scored index.
