AdSense stats delay & the lingering after effects

Anyone else seeing this?

Glad to see that the problem appears to be on Google's end, not mine. Today is shaping up to be my worst day ever, so then I went to WebmasterWorld and checked the Adsense forum...lets just say I almost had a heart attack.

Hopefully we'll find out soon what is going on.

My stats got stuck somewhere between 4 and 6 PM EST May 4. They are still stuck as of 12:25 AM EST May 5. I saw a weird revenue spike yesterday, and today, it's been dismal. <WildConspiracyTheory>Maybe someone has gamed or hacked the Adsense system, overloading the fraud prevention feedback loops until they freezed up. It is theoretically possible.</WildConspiracyTheory>

I like this forum because I can get up-to-the-minute news on Adsense here.

Phew. I was scared for a minute there! I just checked my stats and noticed impressions are 1/4 of what they should be even though web traffic hasn't changed. Glad it's not only me.

anyone notice the timing of this stats outage with respect to the release of the web accelerator? could the pre-fetch "feature" of the accelerator make hits on ads and therefore affect both adwords and adsense stats.

i tried the accelerator on another computer, and i notice that it prefetches links that are moused-over. so if a user mouses over an ad link, would it get fetched?

anyone that lives near googleplex see that the parking lot is still full?

had to join the forum; good to find this (and other) threads to know it was a network wide problem.

in re: to the accelorator being the issue, i tend to think not because i have enough different channels that don't show differences day over day that WOULD if something like that were going on.

but i concur that it would be nice to have any type of update from them. but that would be un-adsense like. ;-)

What I like about finding a thread like this is that it tells me I'm not the only loser in the world that has nothing better to do than watch is stats all day long and turn to a forum when they don't get updated every few minutes.

Don't forget that AdSense stats can be delayed up to 24 hours.

Occasionally there will be a delay of 24 hours or more in the reports you see on the website.

This feels like those days during middle school when the electrical power would go out and the entire school would have a black out. We had nothing to do but just sit in our desks or think of an excusve to go to the bathroom and walk the halls and wait it out. It was fun because it only happened once a year or so, and you know the teachers loved it too....except for that one mean English teacher that seemed to be anti-fun and always had to be having us do some type of homework. It could've been a nuclear explosion and she still would have assigned work in the middle of the mayhem.

Once upon a time there was a large corporation in Mountain View, CA with a motto "do no evil" that one day announced a new product called Web Accellerator. That very night after the new announcement the entire corporate campus was swallowed up by a massive sinkhole where they were built on landfill. All of their web servers at the various co-location facilities mysteriously stopped updating at that very instant in time when the corporation was consumed by the sinkholes and those servers have refused to update ever since....
