Uhmmm....how do I know if they are test results or standard results....apart from seeing possibly seeing varying results?

Based on movements and improvements in that DC, Also Dayo has good experience in differentiating DCs, I agree with him, test DC is offline for more than 24 hours and this is not new, guys at google bring the DC online for testing and take it offline possibly for furthur improvements,

Thanks, but I'm still confused, from what you just said >
If its online right now,as it is for me, what am I seeing?...old results, general SERP's as with other DC's, new results, changed results?

Am seeing old results on the test DC now :( I hope they didn't throw out the new ones!

You're just not seeing the new index on that particular DC. I'm not being a jerk about this response, in fact, all of your suggestions are possible.

I can tell when the new results are running because I have fewer pages indexed in the new DC. For example, on all the "standard" DCs, I'm showing from 985 - 989 pages using the site: command.

On the new DC, I am showing around 700. In fact, each time the DC reappears I have more pages (585 - 650 - 770...). I guess no one knows for sure, but there are some differences that some folks do notice.

MC did indicate that the test data would be on and off when they work on things under the hood.

The test DC has pages crawled by Mozilla Googlebot listed - if you have a site or just a page which you know Mozilla Googlebot is the only one to visit then you can easily tell if the test data is displayed or not.

There are other things which are different - eg Homepage Canonical Problems etc - once you know what to look for then you can see when the test data is there or not.

But for lots of folks there probably is not much different I guess.

If only they listed all pages crawled by that Mozilla bot though :sigh:

OK, cool, I get the general idea. Thanks for all the replies.

I think you hit it on the head, and hence my confusion Dayo, when you said many people may not notice much difference, as apart from positioning being insignificantly different, I can't see any difference. But then its a purely selfish prognosis, as I only check my own main site.

I went from 4,500 hits from Google a few days ago to 250 hits yesterday. I haven't changed a thing, and from what I can see, my site hasn't been dropped.

I don't know what's going on, but this doesn't look good at all...

Speaking of crawling. I'm seeing what appears to be the start of a deep crawl by Googlebot/2.1 - 100 pages so far in the last hour.

I'm also working on my fireplace (starting Tuesday). It used to be white brick. I'm refacing it with a subtle mosaic tile and a shaker style wood front. Tiled on Tuesday, wood cut and installed yesterday, minor adjustments and priming today. (I'm off from my regular job this week).

Looks much better than I even expected (and my expectations are pretty high). I'm working off a picture that my wife found in a magazine. Now if only Google would help me out I could hire someone to do all this work around the house...

Come on Google, papa needs a new pair of shoes...

The same thing happened to my site I was recieving around 3,500 and I'm now recieving 300-500 hits a day.

I'm not worried at this point I'll wait 2 weeks - a month before I become desperate and lost lol.

TERRIBLE results on test DC. I target niche keywords only (1-10k competition) and now on test DC i don't exist even on keywords with _500_ results LOL this is insane...

i'm scared...

i am scared too - my site has gone from 400,000 pages to just 16,000 of which most are supplemental on that Test DC...

It seems like some of the test results are spreading to the other DCs. At least in my sector.

My default DC has very different results then 2 days ago and the results closely mimic the test DC except for a few extra sites making the cut.
