Wow, seems to have just happened a few hours ago because one of my index pages was a PR4 just hours ago and has now increased...I don't check PR everyday just happened to look earlier...

I have just noticed an increase in PageRank on all of my pages that are listed in the OPD. Anyone else seeing the same changes?

I assume that this is related to dmoz.org moving to PR10 from PR9.

I remember googleguy said PR will update a quarter. but now less than a month, PR update again, can you tell me why?

After the last update I lost 90% of my backlinks. After this update, 100% of my backlinks are missing. PR is the same (go figure). 1000's of previously indexed pages have still not returned, and many are still missing titles\snippets.

Is it now taking 2 cycles to get the full PR for new sites? I have only PR 6+ sites linking in but with this update, my new site became a 4.

Looks like garbage for me.

I have multiple ODP listings and i went down a point, so ODP does not seem to be doing anything of value.

I had a PR 9 linking to me that dropped to a 8 so I am sure that is where the drop is coming from.

The SERPs haven't changed as always.
Any ideas, if the SERPs presently displayed are accounted for the new backlinks/PR updated? Or will the PR update be accounted for in the next Google major SERP updation?

Hi,

I also noticed a pr update.
I run a website of a chamber orchestra and have got two inbound links from pr4 and two links from pr5 pages.
Furthermore I have about 10-20 links from less than pr4 pages.
My resulting pr is 3.
For another chamber orchestra page google shows only one external link from a site without any pr and four internal links.
However this other page got a pr of 5.

I do not understand how they got pr of 5 and why does google show internal links for them?

The orchestra page has got a pr of 6?
How is this possible?

Could someone please help me?

Yeehah!

First time ever, Google has finally woken up and found a heap of my deep backlinks.

And I'm now a PR5! Every single one of my sub-pages is a PR4 - previously I was 4 and all sub pages 3. This has been a long time coming, I've been frustrated by so many PR4+ backlinks never ever being acknowledged by Google.

5 is considered "respectable" I can't believe it :)

Prior to this, over the last week I've also noticed my rankings becoming slightly better..

Same here, all of my own personal sites have increased in PR :) but I have also seen that several sites on theme with mine have dropped a point or two.

It is good to see that Google recognise all of the link building I have done over the last two months as well, shows they are paying attention!

Yep PR and links updated but search results still seem to be the same.

I have been waiting for my PR3 site to show the results of much hard work.

I thought my PR would change last update but it didnt and I had almost given up hope.

But it came out of the blue and now I am PR5!

Interestingly my SERPS havent improved since before the last update.

It seems that Google wants to make sure that the links are not just temporary before committing PR

I also see that Google did not forget to increase the PR on their own sites. I just checked 4 or 5 and they were all 9, when before they were 7 and 8.

searps have not changed at all I mean all my competitors are still in the same positions its as if the pr and backlinks have been updated but not factured into results.

Still stuck on PR5 :) can never get it to 6 never mind maybe next month.

I saw some subtle shifts in the SERPS about a week and a half ago. Nothing major, just some "larger tweaks than normal" for lack of a better word.

It is just now that the chainge in PR and the backlinks are showing. The effects of those changes, though, began to be seen during the "tweaking" that showed up 1-2 weeks ago, more or less.

Thus, I don't think you'll see any big differences in the SERPS right now - as the changes already happened. Still, nice to see updated links and PR so soon after the last PR update.

Here's a VERY interesting finding.

You know how I was just raving about my site jumping to PR5..

Well just now its back to PR4.. and all my subpages back to 3 - DAMN.. But I did some quick analysis and found the cause.

I'm listed in dmoz/google directory, the category page that i'm on only has me and 2 other sites (its pretty niche).. anyway, that page was PR5 itself earlier when I was 5, now its a PR4! It just dropped and I've suddenly dropped back to 4 at the same time.. So either I'm right on the edge of being a 5, or google directory holds a lot of extra weight and if it becomes 5 then I do..

i'm back up to 5 again. the google directory page is back up to 5, and a competitor is up to 4 again.
When I was 4 they were 3.

BUT, they aren't linked to from the google directory page.. Weird..

My guess is that a whole pile of pages are fluctuating right now effecting many sites.. I just hope it stops where it is right now and I stay with 5 :)

Gees I saw a whole net work 7 sites that were PR 8 pages go to PR Zero . They were selling links and have been stung big time. I reckon it has cost them 40 k a month in revenue . All the more reason to stay as clean as possible.
