Everyone is saying that serps have not changed. This is true, but remember we are on a rolling update now. I believe Googlebot finds links on high PR sites within a few days and gives a boost to the recipient strait away if one is deserved. I have been playing with the allinanchor: tool for a few months and I am pretty sure I am right with this.

All we are seeing now with backlinks is everything that has been "rolling" over the last month or so.

The effects on the serps are constantly changing. The only time we will see a big upgrade or downgrade is when Google tweak their algo. Not when they decide to show us how many backlinks they are giving us credit for. Times are ever changing.

I hope I am wrong because I would love for Google to give me a "sudden boost" for the 3xPR6 links I got last month that are now showing in my backlinks, but I am not holding my breath.

Hello everyone. I just noticed today that the main page of my website jumped from PR4 to PR6 and the subpages from PR3 to PR5. Also my backlings increased a bit although not all of them show up.
Anyway the problem is that some of my pages do not follow the PR inrease. On the contrary, now they show up with PR0. All of them are in the format www.widgets.com/widget_detail.php?l=13
Can it be because of that? Google has spidered all of these pages and they used to have PR in the previous update. Did anyone else noticed anything similar?

A couple of my sites have pages like .php?string=value
which are well indexed by google but now have no PR rest of the site has a PR5.

They used to get a PR 2 but since last month they don't even have a 0 its greyed out.

Their is nothing wrong with the page for example no Spam and completely unique, it just seems that Google will follow and index them but not put them through the PR counter.

I would like to know if this is the case and if it effects our chances of high rankings when some pages have this structure.

When my host allows us to rewrite urls I will use it but until then it seems unfair.

I'm happy. My hobby site surged forwards with about 30% more inbounds, pushing safely past the 2k mark. Back to PR 7 for me. Yay.

It doesn't seem that any pages added in the last two weeks are in the update though. Pages added 15 or more days ago are in. Confirm?

On my site, back links increased from 11 to 65! But I have 180 reverse links, so all of them have not been added.

PR on my main page went from 4 to 5and PR of links page went from 3 to 4, which is good, so that means PR has been updated on pages which already had PR. However, the new pages still show no PR and do not show up on the SERPs.

Has anybody had PR added on new pages?!

Looks like an old style update - first PR & backlinks then serps factor new values in. Impatience...

Depends on what you mean by "new". Links off the front page to new pages added half way through last month (no previous PR) have nice and tasty PR 6. Pages linked off the front pages but added in the last fortnight are cached but not PR'd.

Some of my internal pages were cached like 2 months ago and have like 20-25 results for link: but are still PR0. I suppose it's the url format that has a few? and & - legacy of the old webmaster:(

Hi. I`m a non technical user and have had a site up for three maybe four months now. The web address will bring up the site but punching in some search words doesnt. Now, I have used the same criteria for another site and that worked. How long will I have to wait before I get some page ranking for search phrases on this newer site?

Well I too got a PR update like everyone else.. PR 6 not bad... so here to sum it up:

Weirdness
---------

Most pages linking from the front page are PR 5 which I am happy with - HOWEVER, a few of the pages (which have been there since the site has started) still have PR 0 (and some of these link from the front page too). So thats weird.

My site of about 100 pages, of these 100 pages about two weeks ago they were all in googles index. Now, only 28 pages are indexed by google!. Not sure what would cause this drop! Thats also weird.

My PR6 became about by these links:
1 x PR7 (google directory)
2 x PR6
4 x PR5
1 x PR4
1 x PR2 (yes, PR2 has shown up in google links)

and to cap it off, my previous PR2 rating to PR6, and now my traffic has fallen today since the update! and thats weird.

One last thing I noticed too, when you first add a site to Google, I think there must be some kind of default page rank involved, or ranking method. This is because before the site had any PR at all, I was in the top ten for some search terms. It then got updated to PR2, and these search terms it had gone to position 80 or 90 in the results.

Thats my two cents!

Cheers

My site was dropped and my PR reduced to zero a few weeks ago. It is now coming back with more than half the pages indexed and today I note that my PR is back to 5, which is where it was before this happened.

Despite this I am not yet getting found so my next job is to find out why :o¦

I'm seeing no changes in the UK yet, or else none of the site I am monitoring has changed PR. I hope it is just a delay as we have made a huge number of changes in the last week or two and I hope we did not just miss the boat

New pages as in pages which were uploaded in the lst couple of weeks. I think my question has been answered from some of the other posts.

Now I just have to wait till the site shows up on the SERPs.

i'm seeing PR increase from 1 to 4 on a new site as well as a leap of 7 places in the SERP's from 9th to 2nd place for its main keyword

(niche market term so not so competitive)

Agreed. High PR6 deep links added March 30 not reflected.

Seems that Google has been taking the DMOZ dump a lot quicker and giving credit to the directory category so much quicker.

Odd thing bout this update is a site has a PR5 and I can't see why, it has one link. Both the sites are about 'certain widgets' so its in the same neighborhood. Could it be cause it dominates for that neighborhood and not the links themselves?

Hey sweet_ali,

I have to agree, and being as how the SERPS change everyday, it is a pretty sure bet.
;-)

on topic, pr has been assigned to internal pages I created about 3 weeks ago.

In one of my sites (one or two months old), I had an inbound link from dmoz (PR4) and now G has detected a PR5 site linking directly to me.
My PR is still 0 and all internal pages have a grey bar.
No PR changes in any of my sites, and the only change in backlinks is that PR5 link. Also, no changes in serps.

This morning 3 of my sites gained a few PR #'s and lots of links, but now they are back to their yesterday low PR and link count state.. any ideas why?

Exactly the case for me. I had links from a pr6 site to two different sites - both PR0, one had been around for five weeks, the other for 10 days. The one that's been around for five weeks is now pr5, the other is pr0. Next update?

Just found out that my site has jumped from PR7 to PR8! Yayyyyyy...

Been PR7 for ages.. So what does this mean now? Is PR still as important as it used to be?
