Seeing PR update of 4 to 5 on two different sites + a lot of new pages now showing PR.

Also seeing a PR6 inexplicably dropped to a PR5 on another site. This is despite a lot of new high PR links coming in, and no visible drop in the PR of older links :-(

Definite PR update, but this seems to be an extremely mild update, based on data from very early this month and late September.

Steve, I completely agree. The update seems to be extremely mild.

Yeah I also subscribe to your thoughts. Still not so mild for me. New site got PR 4 in its first PR update :)

Seen some changes in SERP too, and pretty much disappointed.
A redirected page listing apears on 1st page for a major Keyword.

wanna_learn, what kind of redirect are they using? We can't post the URL or search term, but can you let us know what kind it is? Is it JS redirect?

It looks like all Datacenters are now even with new set of back links and a minor change or SERPs.

Thanks netguy :)

No changes noted for SERPS. I still show way below other competitors :(

Anyone that lost their dmoz listing and backlink got it back yet?

I still have two dmoz links missing in action.

Forgive my ignorance but wasn't this a fairly classic 'old style' update?

backlinks, PR, and pages added. First on outlying datacenters then moved over to www?

Nick, I think the only real difference is that there wasn't much to update due to the rolling update.

We're mostly there; as of this moment, given my DNS, ab, in and zu have not updated. cw, dc, ex, fi, gv and VA have. All different IPs. I can't get www-sj at the moment.

Backlinks and PR are now updated for my pages, but it seems that Google is ignoring some backlinks from high PR pages (6 and above). This is not new to me, it started last update, but now I'm sure it wasn't just a glitch in the algo.

All my backlinks are 100% "genuine", they are not bought and the pages they are pointing to are really usefull for users.

Has someone noticed a reduction of links coming from high PR pages?

Just noticed that the #1 site for the last months on our main search term is now #10 and that a lot of spammers have moved into the 2nd - 5th pages. They weren't there before. Hope this is not a portent for the future.

My analysis of this update is as follows:

Minimal PR updates (based on posts here),
Backlinks updated,
many new pages not assigned PR,
many current pages no PR update, only backlinks.

I don't have any pages that have changed PR that I have found yet but many backlink updates.

If it wasn't for posts here I would say it was only a backlink update, can many people confirm they have seen PR updates?

Cheers,
Nigel

i can confirm my pages have gone from 0 to PR 4, initially only my index page had pr.

However pr has only gone to pages that were previously added in old update

Thats about it, i however had my full crawl of my pages on the 20th, but not seen these in the google db yet, any know any reason for that?

I haven't seen any change in PR, and have pages that were indexed some time ago which I was expecting PR to be added but hasn't happened

I awoke to find this thread and went on a site cruise, though not with high expectations.

To my surprise and delight, many long standing PR 4 pages are now showing PR 5, and several, though by no means all, of our PR 3 pages now show PR 4.

Not your typical Garfield kinda Monday, to be sure.

Looks like there's definitely been some PR change then :)

However it's definitely not a complete Pr update, I have three pages linked from the same PR9, one is new. Two still have PR8, the third is showing the link in backlinks but the page is still PR0!

Cheers,
Nigel

"Recently acquired links 2 weeks + or thereabouts not showing."

I commented on this earlier, it sure seems that new links have been ignored. What is the most recent link anyone can find?

I wouldn't normally expect 2 week old links to be picked up in a backlink update.

I have 29th September links that have been picked up so just under 4 weeks. I think I may have some newer ones than that but unsure of dates they were added.

Cheers,
Nigel

Nigel

have you seen this thread [webmasterworld.com] about 'can have PR but not pass it on' filter that ciml mentioned.

Updated back links, I did not change my regional location on the toolbar though.

Our site went from PR4 to 5 throughout and backlinks more than doubled in the main index. We also went from #9 to #4 in the serps.

The only major changes I see are for super-spam sites who seem to have gotten thousands more links counted and some significant PR boosts because of that.

I can confirm that, I had one weak PR 7 site with ~3500 indexed pages. 2/5 affiliates of that site each had roughly 2500 backlinks in google. Latest publish dropped the 2500 down to 53 for each of them and the associated pagerank dropped from 6 -> 5 on one of them and 6 --> 4 on the other.

Additionally my main affiliate passing PR to me dropped from PR 8 to PR 7. The results is that my formerly weak PR7 site is now a strong PR 5.

*owner snip*
In fact I have noticed some deeper level queries that dropped in position. From 1st to 4th on my now PR 5, still looking through.
