search engine results.

Most likely teeceo means SERP (Search Engine Results Page).
By the way, Google's directory on -va (directory-va.google.com) is still not updated.

One interesting symptom of this update is the fix of a toolbar bug/ inconsistency.
I don't know whether other webmasters noticed this prob?
> Go straight to INDEX page from outside site = showed PR5 > Go to INDEX page from inside site = showed PR4.
Now shows PR5 whether from internal or external page.
Just an observation...

How long does it usually take for the update to translate into new SERPs?

For the last 3(or so) updates, we were seeing serp's "first" then, the backlinks and pr a few days after. I haven't seen a serp's update for awhile so, i guess it will come in a day or so(IMHO).....

Interesting - this is the second month in a row that page rank, backlinks have been updated on the 26th of the month. It would be nice if this could stay as a benchmark for webmasters.
On the flip side, I see no changes in the SERPS.

johnnydequino, actually the beginning of the last update was September 21.
Here's the update starts for the past six months: oct 26 sep 21 aug 29 aug 8 jun 15 may 02
On this one, I'm seeing less PR changes than on September 21. [only 4 sites moving up a point in about 30 I've checked so far - the rest are the same].

I have added about 150 extra links, many PR4,5 or 6 and my link count has actualy dropped by twenty. I haven't lost any links so this seems really odd
The same happened last month, is anybody else seeing the same?
It would also appear that PR hasn't yet updated?

I haven't seen a PR update over here yet either, and I modified my HOSTS file.

Definite PR update, but this seems to be an extremely mild update, based on data from very early this month and late September. The only major changes I see are for super-spam sites who seem to have gotten thousands more links counted and some significant PR boosts because of that.

If this is the case do you think we will see more changes in PR or will it be next month before this happens?

I was expecting an increase of links instead i've got 153 links now from 177. I can't see almost all of the links that i have i aquired over the month.

Something is different this time.
In the past it showed backlinks for PR=3, too. Now it only lists PR>=4 backlinks

The index used for the backlinks must be older than Oct. 14 I have backlinks on 1 page to 2 sites. But they are only listed for 1 of them. The 2nd was inserted Oct. 14 Also I can't find any other backlinks younger than that.

Not true when I just checked VA. Have several PR3 links showing.. unless of course these change to PR4 with the PR update. :)

i think plasma is correct, two things i noticed, all my backlinks from within my site have been updated from the last update. While all my backlinks externally have been from the last backlink update till some point in october.

I was seeing the backlink changes on -kr yesterday afternoon.
Are people mostly seeing only backlink changes right now or do the SERPS on -kr -va and -gv appear to be real?

Ok, when I added the below line to my host file, I noticed a PR4 for my new site, but I have a PR0 if I remove the below line from the host file. Does this mean that my site has a PR4 now and when will this PR show?

I didn't notice any SERPS changes on -va nor www.google.de ....
I love this forum :)

I cannot find any new (links acquired in the last 2 or 3 weeks) on a number of sites that I am managing.
I anyone else noticing the same thing?

Rugles,
I've noticed the same thing. Also, earlier in this thread, JoeyBall, plasma, and penfold25 have made a similar observation.
If I recall correctly, previous backlink updates have been about the same, ie, any new backlinks over the past say 2-4 weeks don't show.

epsrx, congrats! Yes, your new PR should hold and be apparent without the HOST -va IP changes in a few days. [what we don't know is how much value G is placing on PageRank in its algo these days]...

Seeing updates to backlinks on google.com but SERPs look the same. Anyone noticed any changes to SERPs yet?
