As far as I can see it is only on www-cw.google.com that the backlinks are different - the rest are still 799,000

Contrary to my first message, there is new pagerank showing on -fi

Pr on my home page has been 5 for the last couple of months, now has increased to 6, where it was briefly several months ago. Does this mean Google has updated their backlinks?

Hi,
For all the sites I'm monitoring, PR and backlinks have been adjusted (starting with www-cw)

Hi all,
Hoping this is not a false alert, but for the sites I'm monitoring , the backlinks and PR are changing on www-cw.google.com
Dan

www-gv.google.com and www-cw.google.com are both showing 1,100,000 backlinks for yahoo. Lets hope this isnt a hic-up that disappears and our backlinks may finally be updated! :D

Yes, gv and cw have 1,100,000 backlinks for Yahoo. Unfortunately they both have no Google Directory. So we will have to wait for another datacenter before we can see if the Directory is also updated.

Good news and bad news. A new site that's never had links is now showing 2 backlinks - another site lost 11 more, plus another lost about 30.

I've just gained half a dozen backlinks for the first time in months. Excellent....

The change in PR was factored in some time ago though, I believe. We are now simply seeing the backlinks and recalculated PageRank that have been used for over two weeks.

I tend to agree with Bobby_Davro, the SERPS remain the same, and I'm sure what I'm seeing has these new backlinks and PR's factored already.
So, it's just a catch-up by google. Useful to know, but nothing too exciting.

Mine have gone up by about 20 but are still 50% of what they should be :o(

Marcia - seeing it here too - lost another 20%, but looking at them, its all internal page backlinks that have been removed. DMOZ was brought back in, but all of one of my sites internal pages that are high enough to count no longer appear using the link command

No change here

I agree with Bobby_Davro too.
But I am happy that so many internal pages are showing as backlinks ( Perhaps a sign they are PR4 now :) ) (Dont have access to toolbar at work - cant do any test :( )

Initially, I saw it too. But checking a little deeper, there is significant movement for many keywords. I tend to think it is an index update.

Try a site:.com -dsugyfdsougy search across the various datacenters and you will see cw has gained some pages. Also, this seemed as good a time as any to put my own customisable google datacenter tool online. I won't link to it, but it's my email url + /google

doh... the dns numbers above are for -cw not -fi. It is -cw showing the new pagerank.

I'm not seeing any changes yet off the toolbar and pr from the index page is still not spreading to the internal pages on my new site.

That's what I think Bobby - I see no major changes in the serps due to PR changes.

This is PROOF that the links we are seeing on -cw are already the basis of the SERPS on ALL datacentres - NO update - just an updating of visible backlinks

By the old definition, an update starts when the backlinks for Yahoo are changing in some data centers. So, what's the new name?

Does the new data at cw & fi also carry the new rankings in the search results? Or might factoring in the rankings be step 2?

seems to have reverted to last week for me. No update for me yet.

Probably, the most repeated question every update. I just keep forgetting it though :(
