Will the Google update be back soon?

I don't see why you webmasters are so worried about the lack of updates recently.
Google is not going to sit back and watch their index fall 4, 8 or 12 months behind. They have built their reputation on providing up-to-date and accurate search results.

I'm certain that they are working on something even better at the moment and the results of such work will come out shortly.
Google is by far the most popular search engine in the world and I'm sure they're not going to lie down and die.

Sit tight, and be prepared for a whole new Google coming soon...

Googleguy:

1. Is freshbot now deepbot?
2. How long until the update - 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 3+ weeks?

Please give up something here considering you are the only one who knows this info.

Seattle_SEM, True, but I wouldn't want to be him if he said less then a week and something went wrong and it ended up to be a month.

Hi All,

I'm new to this board so I hope my question doesn't sound dumb.

Was just checking logs and noticed a lot of activity from 64.68.82.xx. Has someone determined that as the ip for Google's bots?

Agreed - I'd rather have incorrect information from a reliable source than speculation from the peanut gallery [webmasterworld.com].

What do you think, GoogleGuy?
1. Is freshbot now deepbot?
2. How long until the update - 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 3+ weeks?

;-)

Google has a fix for this mess already but they're breaking all time adwords sales records, which means they're gonna let you hurt a bit longer.

The next update will be made by us - updating our Google bookmarks back to Altavista ;).

bolitto - This update is not only effecting businesses but non-profits as while. If you have a website that was put online after feb. good luck finding it in Google. The only thing your going to find is what freshbot got and not even all of thoughs pages are in the index.

I doubt Google is doing this because of Adwords sales. If they are, the will not last long.

When are we getting those 10 questions answered?

It seems like we were aiming for the end of last week [webmasterworld.com].

Put some stank on it, GG! ;)

Thanks dnbjason

Early March I reorganized my site and made its subject groups modular by using a folder for each one... as opposed to all HTML being in 1 folder. I figured I'd take a hit on traffic till the next dance and that was OK. My index page remained at 4 but all subpages went to 1 and there it has stayed. I've been back checking searches using Hitbox and ALL engines appear to still be using the old directory structure!

Was just looking at logs again and googlebot is there but is trying to GET pages from the old structure. Is this normal?

TIA

In one week we will have update "Dr. Emmet Brown".

An index from October 2001 will be used. Webmasters with sites put online in the past 2 years will whale and moan. Others will rejoice that their old pages have, at last, made it "back to the future"!
