Supporters Forum is now the never-ending forum. Looks like the whole forum is delivered as one page.

Clicking the "last page" of a topic from the forum overview brings you to a page with no content, only page links:

    Topic ( 1 2 3 4 )

    Clicking 4 gives

    This 40 message thread spans 2 pages: < < ( 1 2 ) > > (title)

    This 40 message thread spans 2 pages: < < ( 1 2 ) > >

Thanks to everyone who has helped out. Sure made quick work of finding those last remaining critters.

I can't explain how complex and involved the interactions between dozens of scripts an programs are within software now. Bug hunting on this scale is a tall order. Thanks for helping out!

I just posted a list of bugs, and was taken to a blank page 2, and my message did not appear in the thread. trying again.

    .

Every thread where I go directly to the last page of the thread, has that last page as blank with no messages in it. I have to back up one page to see any of the messages.

    .

I may be imagining this, but I think that many threads have shrunk by several posts.

    .

The #message numbers in the threads used to be the message number in THAT thread, starting at #1, but now seem to be some global message number in the three million range.

    .

If you edit a new post, you immediately get the "message edited at date and time" appended to the post. Previously you could secretly edit a post without that message appearing just as long as no one else posted a follow-on message while you were editing the post. I liked that operation. I gave a few minutes grace to correct a minor typo in a post without it being flagged as baing edited.

    .

    More as I find them....

    .

After I posted a second time, I was taken to a blank Page 3 of thread (at 15 messages per page), and then I backed up to Page 2 to see that my original post had now appeared, and the new one too, and these were at the BOTTOM of page 2. Previously (after one post) Page 2 was blank!

After that edit, this post also appears at the top of Page three but did not do so immediately after it was originally posted.

    .

WebmasterWorld thread URLs no longer contain the forum number in them. Eeek!

    .

Hmm, I have always used 15 messages per page, now it is reset to 20. That might explain why page counts don't match total viewable posts.

    .

The script name of the control panel and everything in it has been changed to stickymailv4.cgi (used to be without the v4). Is that permanent? If so, me and maybe lots of other users need to update bookmarks.

when I delete a thread (using the one click method) I can't find them in the index of the destination forum, though the thread is there somewhere

anchors don't work for threads, such as in reported

reported posts have 2 different urls in them

the no bold on new msgs is killing me
    <added>so are the crazy msg #'s ;)

I believe the strange 404 urls in reported posts is sorted out, seemed to only be in the first reports

    - Link errors on [webmasterworld.com...]

Opera and Firefox subforums point to [webmasterworld.com...] instead of

    [webmasterworld.com...]
    [webmasterworld.com...]

    - "Edited by" shows even if it is the last post in the thread.

    - moderator profiles show old URLs, not just the link under the nick in posts

    - Also, not really a bug, but the "msg#:3000609" in the left column should really be a permalink to the post.

Front page: forum links in highlighted posts part (not forum list on right) still show old forum URLs, eg. "Posted in Google AdWords by".

yes, old urls live where they were created. All *new* threads use the new urls. That way - we live onward in the search engines!

I have labored over that one for a long time too. I wonder about people leaving perm bookmarks though to specific messages. One of the overriding things I do here is everything is to encourage participation in the forums. A perm link, gives people a shortcut into a conversation. They could start passing around the perm links for specfic messages. Or worse - quoting them on blogs or out of context. Everything I do here with the software is to try and build community. That is about engaging people in conversation!

It is kinda like rss feeds. We want people engaged in conversations - not drive by visiting of threads that pop up on their rss aggregator.

when using the one click delete function the thread becomes locked. I guess this could be a feature, but sometimes it can make house keeping easier if it's possible to add an explanatory post?

status: error : Post is older than system operator has set to allow.
No Replies Allowed. The thread has been closed.

Thread was under 2 hrs old.

Cant read anything beyond page 3.

When I look at a topic in the forumindex I see pages 1,2,3,4,5... when I click on 5, it does not have any posts and the thread navigation show pages 1,2,3

My email notifications point to addresses like

    [webmasterworld.com...]

    where it should be

    [webmasterworld.com...]

Also as I complete this screen there is no "Do you want an email notification of replies?" tick box. (The codes and smileys boxes are there).

Added: I now realise that the "notification" box disappears after the preview button is pressed.

    thread numbering is messed up

reason being, it isn't taking my settings, looks like it is reading them for the index but inside the thread I am getting multiple pages instead of a single page

as my messages per thread is set fairly high

This 123 message thread spans 5 pages: 123
