Any merchant can monitor how many people have viewed their ad, how many have tapped on it, and how many actually came into their store.

Has the enthusiasm for user check-ins faded? Foursquare could have had something like this a long time ago when check-ins seemed all the rage. The willingness to share and report one's location does seem to be waning.
