I don't trust the "content network" / "Syndication" .

In a new role, found majority of clicks are coming from G content network, but only few clicks result in genuine enquiries. In the past I checked the sites our ads were being displayed on and they were a mix or "almost p o r n, gambling and affiliate pages. Not where I wanted our reputation to be linked.

I prefer our ads are shown on G properties only, but I guess we will face a hit in traffic if I close down content network.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts?

And, how can I know what keywords the user is enquiring after when they click an ad link in a content network page?

i have tried here and there over the years but almost always stay away from anything that is not in Google search directly. For as long as I can remember almost every post and article I have read says the same thing.

I am mulling over options, I would like to cut it out but the initial hit to the numbers won't look great, though expenditure would be down :)

Don't forget that ad networks will ping your ads to make their stats look good.

Try to prove it and see what little you have to work with.

Well I am going to find some time to look at syndication and how much it makes up my current G ads spend. I need to know the possible impact of switching it off ..
