How to put an RSS content feed on your website.

I've Googled at least 15 times on this subject and still haven't found the direct answer I need. The answer is probably very simple, but grey areas are keeping me clueless.

How do you put the RSS feed ONTO your website? All I find is info on how to create an RSS feed. Other times I find information on different RSS readers that operate (so it seems) apart from the website.

My goal is to place relevant content on my websites containing keywords that will eventually help in SEO.

If you can tell me or point me in the right direction for how to put an RSS feed on my website, please do.

Once you have created the rss file (either by hand or by script) all you have to do is put a link to it, as you would to any other file.

If you want a feed only to help you in the search engines you may be disappointed.

You need in the head section the following code :
<link rel="alternate" title="your title" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://yourdomain.com/yourfeed.xml" />

Now, I don't want a feed only to help me with search engines, however, I am curious as to why you say I would be disappointed. Is there something I should know?

I use lastRSS <snip> to parse RSS feeds and re-use the content. I'm not sure it will help your rankings though.

I am presuming that you don't want to put your site up as RSS Feeds but you want to take other feeds from other sites and put them on your site.

There are many ways to do this. Do you use PHP, ASP, or are you looking for a simple JavaScript solution, or another solution?

There are answers to all the above in this forum. If you can't find them, then please repost with your requirements.

I have about the same problem as the original poster. My site is html, I do not want to turn it into PHP or anything like that, I need to add a couple of other sites' feeds to one of my site's pages. What is the simplest I can do?

The easiest way to add an RSS feed to your site is to use javascript. <snip> provides a free javascript service.

Please be aware that javascript is invisible to most if not all search engines.
