Hi,

Can anyone tell me if espotting is worth paying for to market the website in the UK, what are your experiences?
Are they converting as well as overture etc?
Where are the ads shown?

Thanks.

Bek.

My experience with them is pretty good, but is old - before their "union" with FindWhat.

They are somehow pretty expensive (more like Ov then G), and their pricing system was at that time very annoying.

It also depends what traffic they can provide and how the competition looks like for your industry.

So I would really appreciate any comments from people having most recent experience with them.

Or maybe what is saying about FindWhat goes also for Espotting?

Espotting is very cheap at the moment in many sectors. We show espotting listings and target the UK. They are on a big drive to improve the quality of their publishers so now is perhaps a good time to experiment.

How are the conversions matching up to AdWords & Overture?

somehow pretty expensive

Chekcing out some of their top areas like Loans or Debt Consolidation their bids are REALLY low.

However they have only been around the £2 for a short while - I think since a few months after the FW takeover... as MHES says they are on a drive to increase the quality of their traffic.

Their biggest problem is they partner with no major engine - therefore as their actual site does not drive much traffic, they are wholey reliant on affiliates to drive clicks - hence the need for cleaning up their act.

I tried them about 6 months ago and found them to be okay - not bad bids, but lower conversions that any other mainstream (i.e. Ov, Goog or Mirago) PPC in the UK

It probably really does depend on the sector, but as with everything makje sure you track what's going on from ads and referrals.

First - it's my first post here so thanks you all for a very informative forum! It helped me a lot.

Here's my 2c on eSpotting:

eSpotting bids are fair, however - the volume of the traffic is kind of low (UK).

The interface was very easy to use for me - and allowed me easily to write a specific ad for each and every keywords (highly recommended :).

I don't know if I can post here my email address, if it's possible (and please tell me if it is) - you can email me and I'll send you the list of the major affiliates of eSpotting in each and every country.

Btw - they can help you open campaigns in almost every country in Europe. They can even write the ads for you.

Assaf.

They use to provide results for Yahoo UK but since Yahoo has switched to Overture, the actual traffic and the quality of traffic has dropped markedly. In my opinion, their minimum bid of 0.10 GBP is not justified and I could see that some of our competitors have left.

Still, espotting will give you a bit of traffic and some conversions (around 10% of Overture UK for us) The question is whether it is worthwhile spending time in setting things up.

When I said "somehow pretty expensive" I was referring to Min Bid, that is, if I am correct, 0.1 (pounds or euros).
So for small advertisers is not so profitable.

For large advertisers - they could pay less for top-serched terms, but the volume is much smaller, and also the conversion could also be smaller - so maybe paying 2 euros in Espotting brings the same ROI as paying 5 euros (per click) in G or OV.

Espotting has consistently given me some great results. I'm not sure if they are a good solution for smaller business(the money conversions can be killer) but for those with a moderate budget and looking to get into some European markets(especially UK & Germany)I would definitely recommend giving them a try. One issue is that unlike Google and Overture they do not have their own tracking system so make sure you have something in place so you can track your own results. Also they can help you set up campaigns in different languages if you need some help researching keywords and writing copy. In fact I was thinking of investing in them....but then I found out findwhat owned them!

I have used almost all ppc providers and the only ones that give me ROI are Adwords, Overture (US & UK) and e-spotting. e-spotting, like overture, is a real pain to submit large numbers of listings as their editorial policies are draconian in my opinion.
