Worst quality 'traffic' of all time?

According to our ePilot statistics we have received 5,500 visitors to our domain name registration site in just one month. They have searched for highly targeted terms. When they click on our advert, they are sent to a page specifically for domain name registrations. Not a single one of them has registered a domain name at the site we sent them to. Cost can't be a factor in affecting conversion ratio, as domains are $9.

5,500 visitors from the other PPC search engines we use would have resulted in at least 100 registrations at the site.

Why would 5,500 people search for a domain name registration site, read the title/description of our PPC listing, click through to it, and then not one of them register a domain name?

We have had similarly poor results for all our listings.

The only reason I can think of is that the traffic is fraudulent.

Another highly suspicious thing: we only bid 2 cents max. for our listing. How can a site which is listed about 16th in ePilot.com's results receive 5,500 visitors in one month alone? Are there more searches at ePilot than Google and Yahoo combined?

I have spent hours researching the traffic we have paid for from ePilot and am not very impressed with the sites they partner with, nor their anti-fraud mechanisms.

What have other people's experiences been with ePilot?

Sounds a little like the complaints heard about Enhance. Surely regulation in this area is just around the corner.

Zero conversions in a b2b niche over 3-4 months.

You may have a different experience but for me, it was a disaster. I have lots of clicks from them that were not converting. It's a piece of junk!

Epilot is awful; Enhance is awful; FindWhat is awful;
Who isn't awful (in my opinion)?

Overture and Google Adwords. People you get what you pay for. 2 and 8 cent clicks? What did you expect?

IMHO all but Adwords & Overture belong to "get paid to click" business :)
