How do PPCs show up in hit statistics?

If there's already a thread on this subject, would some kind soul point me to it?

I would like to know how click throughs on PPCs are listed in website hits and/or visit reports. Specificially: If someone clicks through on, say, an AdSense PPC, will it show up on a hit report as a "Direct Request" or under the search engine it came from?

I can't help you as a general matter, but in our case, we use Urchin for our traffic reports. PPC visits show up under search engine referrals, at least given the way we have Urchin configured.
