When I first signed up on FindWhat, my first day had 5 times the clicks as I got from Adwords. or Overture!
When I checked my logs, I noticed that 90% were from foreign IPs and a page called - <snip>

I emaied them and got a standard response stating basically nothing.

I then emailed again and included my stats so they could see, and go no response. I emailed three times since, with no response. We are talking high cost keywords and the total is considerable.

Complain on a really popular webmaster forum and then cut your losses ;-)

Looksmart filters foreign traffic. Not sure about Findwhat.

I have argued successfully with FindWhat and had dubious clicks re-credited to my account. I did have the logs to back up my concerns.

Unfortunately, I agrued unsuccessfully! :-(

I sent them partial logs I had saved, but they wanterd more and I purge my logs.
I asked how I could have gotten to many clicks from non-english speaking countries & from <snip>, but they didn't seem to concerned about it.

Not worth anymore effort

I have had very successful campaigns with them. The ROI that I have gotten from them has been great. I stoped advertising about a month ago doe to client reasons (nothing to do with me or the marketing).

I guess different PPCs for different people and industries work differently.

Findwhat worked pretty well for me in various industries over the last 1-2 years. Lately though it is very erratic and becoming less reliable/profitable in my opinion.

FWIW, after numerous emails and a phone call, I got this response...

"During a recent review of traffic on the FindWhat.com Network, including traffic sent to your website under account “****x", we found some traffic that did not meet our standards - as traffic of high-quality. Although we cannot release the specifics of the traffic itself, or the sources of delivery, we can reassure you that the source of this questionable traffic no longer has access to the FindWhat.com Network.

To remedy any effect this had on your advertising campaign, we are pleased to issue a refund of $xxxx. It will be applied to your account by the end of the day today. This amount is the total sum of any charges that were applied to your account as a result of traffic delivered through this particular source. Please reply to this email if you would like us to refund this amount to your account."
