When I try and enter any term about hosting, web hosting website hosting etc. It says there are no bids for the term. This has to be wrong, what is going on here?

Hit enter again without changing the term and the bids usually show up. I think there is a timeout or some other error going on a lot of times which causes that error to occur.

Yes, that happens a lot. (I've never tried it on your keywords, but it happens on all keywords.) Just keep trying and eventually it works.

I have a question kind of unrelated to this post, but is there any way to search for kw's by highest bid? Or would one have to manually check each kw?

Have to manually check each bid. There are some articles that might list the top bidded KWs at the time of that report, and often those words don't change too often, so you can get a good starting point from there.
