Anyone have any experience with this PPC? I'm thinking of running a campaign. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

They seem to distribute across alot of the same sites as Business.com does. Perhaps they're in cahoots.

They're expensive to flirt with and i'm kind of dissapointed at there ad layout. They appear on slashdot randomly and i've noticed they often cut out text of the ads.

IndustryBrains on Slashdot is currently running on a percentage of their impressions. This means the ads are only served on a set amount of impressions/month. IndustryBrains works with publishers like Ziff Davis, CMP which include large IT sites. If you are looking for exposure on technical sites ranging from PC enthusiast sites like Toms Hardware to enterprise sites like Network Computing then IndustryBrains may be something you will want to look into.
And yes, I do work for IndustryBrains so if you want to find out about the sites we work with let me know.

I've seen them around. Some of their stuff, like the Ziff-Davis positions, overlap with Google. You have to look at where they can put you, and whether or not there's overlap with anything else you're doing.

Usually the "sponsored links" marketplace falls below the article within the page. On certain sites like BusinessWeek Online, the sponsored links area is a vertical going down the right region of the page. The best part about Industry Brains is that you choose exactly which category you'd like your ads to appear in. For example if you wanted an ad to appear in the motherboard category of Toms Hardware, you could do just that. This gives you the ability to custom tailor the ads based around the relevant articles that they appear in.

Thanks VinTurk.

Interesting concept, straightforwardly presented. Somehow it seems better focused than what Kanoodle is trying to do.

Doing tech makes sense. Are you looking at any other categories in the near future? How about health? Or finance. Kanoodle thinks finance is the place to be.

We have launched a finance category that includes sites like Business Week, Kiplingers, Motley Fool, and a few other big players are in the works. If someone desired to target only financial sites then they would be able to choose specific categories within Business Week where their ads would appear. This lets them tailor the ads based around the articles they appear in.

Did some research on them and they didn't seem that good. They've now got one or two new signups. VNU has signed up with them recently so mags like PCW.co.uk and - possibly - computer active now use them.

IndustryBrains manages most of the pay per click advertising for the VNU network. Our distribution includes PCW.co.uk, ComputerActive, Infomatics, IT Week, Network IT Week, VNUNet, Web Active, WhatPC?, PC Magazine, Computer Reseller News, and recently launched Accounting Age, and Financial Director.

They offer some nice features like being able to select the page to display on (i.e., home page) and specific sites from their network.

They also team up with quality distribution partners. I wasn't seeing too many conversions, but traffic from them was good and the brand exposure oppurtunity through their program justified the cost of the campaign I was running.

Only problem is that about 4 days into it, the site I was advertising on asked them to pull my ad from their network because they considered my site to be a competitor of theirs. That was the end of my campaign. So much for open advertising.

I use Industry Brains ... I don't get much traffic from it, but it doesn't cost me much either so I've left it alone.

If it reaches your target audience...it's a really good network to advertise thru. We use it and it's been great!
