Google Traffic Estimator - how reliable?

I need something explained to me...

Using the Google Traffic Estimator I'm researching a term that's showing an estimated clicks per day of 1 to 2 times for a #1 keyword postion.

Now, when reasearching with Digital Point's keyword popularity tool, it's showing the same term is search about 1,900 per month in Google.

This seems like a pretty big gap (63 to 1) and I don't understand why a term would appear so popular in one tool while the Google Traffic Estimator is showing this to be a light traffic term.

What do I not understand?

thanks,
devvy

From my experience, Google Estimator Tool is very inaccurate. I don't know about the other, but G's is the last tool I would trust at this moment.

it's a waste of time.

i stopped using that thing about 2 years ago.

i use overture as a basic outline but event that is pretty out of wack.

you can expect to double or even triple whatever yahoo will show you.
