PPC UK - google, overture - then what?

How to broaden a successful PPC campaign

I started a PPC campaign for a technical book publisher - UK market only - eight months ago. We can track clicks through to sales so we know the profitability of every click. So far I have nearly 30 campaigns running for different books on google adwords. Some work, some don't, but overall google has been consistently profitable and delivers a high level of traffic. Overture also profitable, but lower volumes. I tried e-spotting with the opposite result - plenty of traffic and few sales. A brief experiment with Mirago didn't produce much either. Where do I go now for PPC? Is it really the case that over half my time and money should go on google, and overture comes second by some distance (but is still important). After that, it's hardly worth bothering? I would certainly be interested in the experience of others with PPC campaigns for specialist, non-mass-market products, where you can rank high without spending too much (my average CPC is around 14p).

Welcome to Webmasterworld [webmasterworld.com]

always nice to hear a success story on PPC, partuclarly when its being tracked all the way through to a sale.

I take it you have exhausted keywords for your industry, and have every single angle covered :) (you probably do)

a few months ago I would have advised going direct to MSN for a featured site listing, and also to ASK.co.uk for a similar deal, but those frankly aint happening anymore or wont be suitable in your sector.

obviously you are in a market where there is a demand for your product, so maybe look at things such as affiliate programs on a CPA deal, you obviously know what your ROI is, so could be a good route.

as for PPC, there really aint much left in the UK, apart from what you have mentioned.

You could try Webfinder, although there isn't a great deal of traffic there though. ROI is supposed to be very good at the moment due to the low click price.

I am about to start playing with Gobango.com they have a very different approach and may be worth a little investment.

Apart from Mirago, Espotting and Google.UK have you tried LookSmart UK to get on MSN?
How about Overture UK?

I'm on Overture UK - that works well - but people have told me Looksmart doesn't produce much traffic. Yes?
