We have the strength of a sales force able to sell the inventory on our web site. We have our own search engine we are satisifed with but we are looking at serving text based sponsored listing above our algorithmic data in the future. A la Google or Yahoo! products.
Can anybody give me advice on whether we should build our own inventory management, reporting, billing solution or whether there is off the shelf packages in the UK I could source? Doubleclick serve our existing banners on our site. Are they a credible partner within the sponsored listings environment?
Has anybody looked at this in the past or has any info they can disclose on valuable lessons learnt?
