While attending the last SES conference in San Jose I spoke with one of their V.P.'s about an idea to increase listings in Looksmart.
If Looksmart stopped blocking the Google spider, I bet a lot more people would sign up for listings in their directory.

Question is will Google spider looksmart and give it proper importance/weight as it gives to a DMOZ listing, if it is allowed to spider looksmart? I'm not sure about that because LS is not a stable index. Advertisers come and go almost on daily basis as monthly budgets for some are exhausted and they are removed from the LS and some new listings are continuously added.
OTOH DMOZ and even yahoo is a more stable directory. A link in DMOZ stays like forever and in yahoo for at least 1 year.

They might want to look at how their site works in various browsers. They clearly hate Opera ;)
