Paid Inktomi listing using Looksmart description?

Does any one know why only a Looksmart listing would appear in the "Pure Inktomi" search.

I've noticed a grave decrease in the number of click throughs for our Inktomi submissions.

Any ideas?

It's been 6 days since I made the original post and in those 6 days the following has happened;

1)PT refuted my claim
2)PT ackowledged my clain after persistance and proof and responed with - Inktomi is currently having a problem with a few customers URL's in the program displaying the Looksmart title and description. They are working on getting this corrected as soon as possible. That's an understatment
3)INK fixed the listing
4)INK drops the listing to never-never land
5)INK now reflects the L$ listing again
6)INK now reflects an additional page from our site that was never submited (found only in "PURE SEARCH")
7)The only listing to show anywhere now is the single L$ listing.

Basically, we're screwed..

By the way, does anybody know how keywords are associated with INK listings. The only keyword picking up for INK is a mis-spelling, imagine that.

sparrow,

Although Ink has been using the L$ title/desc for my url, Ink is still reading the keywords in my metatag and in the text body. I can tell because Verisign-Network Solutions (the reseller that I purchased Ink from) lets you look at traffic reports. I can see all the keywords that people are searching on.

By the way, I got the same BS about it being a bug in the Ink program and that they were "working on it" but yesterday a L$ support tech told me this was happening because of their "parntership" and not because of a bug.

L$ is getting on my last nerve.

PT gives you the same option, however, I am only showin 1 keyword and it is a mis-spelling of a word that I haven't mis-spelled, how is that?

Okay...now I've heard everything. I came to these boards to get some clarity and information on what to do with the LS listing, now changed to PPC and now dropped out of MSN, which is where I submitted for $299, like everyone else.
I was under the impression that INK. listing PPI was the way to go, list my index page, since the only page on MSN is my "confirm" page listed in the INK. directory for free...and way down the list. So...just about to submit and pay to INK. when I start digging deeper only to find these posts on the board suggesting that LS and INK and in bed with eachother, and now soooo confused since apparently if you submit a PPI to INK. they drop your free listing and use your LS description...HELP!
I am not a webmaster...just learning and trying to keep my families business listed. We are number one on Google and Yahoo...but I felt MSN was necessary as well and so I paid...and now I am forced to either go PPC with LS or PPI with INK. or do what? Wait? Please, if anyone can make any sence out of my message...I am really, really feeling lost without a clue...or lost with too much information and still no idea which is the best move.
I love these boards, but the more I read, the more I am uncertain of what and who to trust in the search world...really feeling distrust of LS and INK. and yet realize this is an ever changing situation with all the players...
Thanks, Linda

I am being told the following from ineedhits.com customer service:

<snip>sorry, no email quotes without the sender's consent, please paraphrase what was said - sw</snip>

I need to get to the bottom of this and find out why, if you pay Inktomi for inclusion AND you have paid for a L$ listing as well that Ink takes your money and runs without regard for their "refresh policies".

I'm just an independent mobile DJ in Charlotte, NC trying to increase my ranking for queries such as "charlotte disc jockeys". In fact, I was #1 within 48 hours on MSN & AOL after registering for $40 with Inktomi. Yippeeee, I thought. Then, my monthly budget reached it's limit at LookSmart, but I didn't think much about it because I thought I didn't need the sponsored link if I was #1 already in the main Inktomi results. Wrong! Now, my Inktomi listing is completely blocked for any queries containing strictly my keywords. It shouldn't be this way. As far as I know, Google keeps their main search results independent of sponsorship and commercial influence. I rank well with Google. Any suggestions other than pay homage to LookSmart?

Makemetop...
I just read your post regarding the LookSmart title and description showing in your Inktomi Listing and also that you were able to correct that with the company that you paid for inclusion with.

I have Position Tech and I emailed them this week to ask them
why my page was still showing LS information and this was their response:

Linda,

Inktomi is displaying the Looksmart discription for a limited number of URLs within the Search/Submit program. Inktomi is aware of this issue and they are working to resolve it. We are hoping that this is resolved in the next weeks.
