Search package for PDFs - no .NET

Looking for a package to search site full of PDFs

I am looking for recommendations on software packages (free or pay) that can be accssed via ASP (not .NET).

It should parse more than just the meta data of the PDF if possible. I would like it to intelligently search the actual contents of the PDF.

Can anyone recommend packages they have used?

You could always email them to Adobe's conversion email address. There are plenty of linux applications which can do this with no problem - perhaps you should consider switching platform.

This is a Microsoft / IIS forum. Telling someone to choose another platform is not really appropriate. It's not like there are not any solutions, I'm just looking for recommendation on best solutions.

As a follow up, does anyone have experience with iFilter from Adobe as a filter for Index Server?

I'm leaning that direction and wouldn't mind some constructive feedback on that route.
