[news.bbc.co.uk...]

An US judge has ruled that MS has to include java in Windows, pending the results of a lawsuit from Sun.

Personally I think that if MS had did what they did on a smaller scale, noone would have batted an eyelid.

Its like you being told that you must include my content on your site because it is useful for your users and by not doing so you are abusing the fact that your site is bigger than mine... ;)

But, they're just too big for their own good. Unfairness is tolerated on a small scale, but not on an international scale.

jackofalltrades,

How can this be done on a smaller scale?

I didnt mean this in particular, but if they had attempted to dominate a much smaller market by trying to exclude their competitors, then i think they could have sucessfully done so.

Games consoles anyone?

Sony, Nintendo and MS could easily designed machines that run compatible software. But they dont.

Should court cases be taken against them as well to force across the board compatibility?

I think MS are getting a pretty raw deal due to their size - too many eyes on them. I guess thats just the price you pay when your that big.
