I usually delete such emails, but a colleague wants some feedback on a site which is offering a keyword research tool called Keyword Hounddog Beta - does anyone have any experience with it?

thanks!

Took a quick look. There doesn't seem to be much to see.

I'm guessing, from the one demo page on the site, that there's not much information available from the "tool" that you can't find elsewhere for free. Most of it appears to be about what's targeted, not what's searched... but I can't really tell because the site is skimpy and, I think, purposely vague.

The Google AdWords Sandbox is a much better tool. Even the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool, often-skewed as it is, is probably a much better tool. At least both reflect actual searches from known sources, and both are free.

Hmmmm? In perpetuity too, I trust, and Professional too. ;)

itrainu - Is your colleague by any chance connected with this sterling enterprise?

Heavens no! I am starting a new job and they keep asking me for advice. I have plenty to give but thought I'd back it up with someone elses opinion *lol*

I told them pretty much the same thing - and BTW can you please purchase a subscription to WordTracker for our team *grin*

Thanks!

itrainu - From your comments, I realize you were trying not to bias the feedback you got... but, in my opinion, you should have stated your reaction to the "tool" up front. The only reason I took the time to write any sort of serious response was to warn other members off of it. Your post could well be taken as a product name drop on a very popular public forum.

Wow! I guess I need to read up on some etiquette somewhere - I didn't post the url in an effor to be netiquette wise ;-)

I do think it is natural to get others feedback - perhaps other individuals that I consider credible - such as yourself Robert - may have different opinions ;-) Thanks for taking the time to reply.

FWIW - I got one of these as well, "since I advertise in Yahoo" according to the email.

I make it a policy to never do business with companies that use UCE.

Their poor Alexa ranking aside, just their site design alone would make me run!

I have heard of it, but never used it. People who send spam get no business from me.

What is with the photo? This website is a joke. Seeing a dead bird and a dog with a gun promped against him is not an inviting image. I would never be a customer of this company and I wouldn't have to think twice about giving them my credit card #.
