Too many keywords = spam?

I have a site with a tight focus. But would like to create pages for each keyword combination. My Google SERPS listings only seem to catch a limited number of my keywords.

If I create lots of pages, each targetting one keyword, would this be considered a doorway page and therefore spam?

I am a little unsure on this area.

Thanks,

Jon

This is my way of looking at this:

I think a tight focus deprives you of a lot of traffic.

From studying my AdWord campaigns I realized that an exact match of a keyword phrase didn't always pull in as much volume of traffic as that keyword phrase plus other words.

What this told me is that, despite what the Overture tool says, people just don't search in the exact same way. This observation was confirmed by studying my traffic stats.

I don't see anything wrong with adding more content. If it happens to focus on certain keywords then fine.

As Google advises [google.com],

Create a useful, information-rich site and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content.

Think about the words users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it.

Hi Jon,

Depends on the way you use them. If you create lots of on target informational pages with real content, nobody, including Google, will see them as doorway spam.

If you just replace one word in otherwise identical text, they will probably be considered spam. If you redirect those pages, they certainly will.
