How to get RID of keywords again?

Hi there,

maybe it's a funny question, but how can I *AVOID* to get certain search-engine keyword hits?

The story is this: I have a considerable amount of hits through keywords which are part of my site, but have more or less NOTHING to do with our business. One example is that funny enough I get quite some hits for "PC specs". But they direct visitors to a page where the minimum requirements for PC's are listed in order to run with a product we sell. Those visitors generate page-views - yes - but they have nothing to do with our main business.

I can - of course - exclude the page in question via the robots.txt. But on the other hand I surely WANT to attract visitors who search for "PC specs" in combination with one of our products.

Any ideas? Or shall I leave it as is and be happy about the page-views when I have an argument with bookkeeping/controlling the next time?

Have you thought abut trying to get something in return for those visitors? Maybe adding some content along the lines of what they are looking for or promote some sort of affiliate program targeting those visitors? How about links to Dell's affiliate program, or someone like Amazons PC section, with a text link along the lines of "Click Here for PC specs", you may end up getting a sale out of the traffic.
