Marta, it looks like the bigger company is simply outbidding you for the adwords. Adwords != keywords. See if you can up your bid on at least a few of the words enough to edge them out. It may be a while before they notice if you only hit them on 10-15 terms scattered through the list.

I always use two best keyword tools for researching my keywords.First is Google Ad words and second one is Google keyword Tool.
